BWW Review: World Premiere of Chandler Hubbard's Noteworthy ANIMAL CONTROL at Firehouse Theatre

Richmond audiences should not pass up the opportunity to see a world premiere of a new play written by a local actor and playwright. The 2019 recipient of the Martha Hill Newell Playwright's Fund, Chandler Hubbard's ANIMAL CONTROL is smart, witty and intense. The debut at Firehouse Theatre is a strong display of Hubbard's talent, and features some strong performances in spite of staging issues. ANIMAL CONTROL runs through May 11 at Firehouse Theatre.

Richmond Triangle Players continues its 2018-19 season with The Laramie Project, the groundbreaking play by Moises Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theater Project that chronicles the people and events that led up to the horrific murder of Matthew Shepard, as well as the immediate aftermath. The production will open Friday September 28 at 8:00 pm, after two low-priced previews on Wednesday and Thursday September 26 and 27 at 8:00 pm, and run through Friday October 19.

The local production of this play that opens July 13th at The Basement in downtown Richmond features a talented local cast led by Adam Turck playing both Jason and his demonically possessed hand puppet, Tyrone.
