Joel Perez and Kara Young to Host The Movement Theatre Company's 15th Anniversary Gala


The Movement Theatre Company has announced hosts and performers for their 2022 Annual Gala, which will celebrate the company’s 15th Anniversary. The gala will be held on Monday October 17 at Ginny’s Supper Club at Red Rooster.

Atlantic Theater Company is presenting the world premiere play Shhhh, written, directed by, and featuring Clare Barron (Pulitzer Prize finalist Dance Nation). Shhhh is now in performances and will open Monday, January 31st for a limited engagement through Sunday, February 13th at Atlantic Stage 2 (330 West 16th Street).

SHHHH Announces New Preview and Opening Dates


Atlantic Theater Company  has announced that, due to an abundance of caution for the health and safety of the company and audiences, the first two performances of Shhhh on January 12 and 13 are canceled.

Shhhh will begin performances on Wednesday, January 12th and will open Monday, January 24th for a limited engagement through Sunday, February 13th, 2022, Off-Broadway at Atlantic Stage 2 (330 West 16th Street).

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater Adds Two Matinees Of NOVENAS FOR A LOST HOSPITAL


Due to popular demand, Rattlestick Playwrights Theater has added two matinee performances, October 4 and 11 at 1pm, of Novenas for a Lost Hospital, and released production photography by Julieta Cervantes. Novenas for a Lost Hospital is a communal experience created by playwright Cusi Cram (A Lifetime Burning) and Rattlestick's Artistic Director Daniella Topol (Ironbound) that stars Tony Award-nominated and four-time Obie-winning actress Kathleen Chalfant (Angels in America, Wit).

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater Opens 25th Season With Cusi Cram's NOVENAS FOR A LOST HOSPITAL


Rattlestick Playwrights Theater has announced details and complete casting for the world premiere of Novenas for a Lost Hospital, a communal experience created by playwright Cusi Cram (A Lifetime Burning) and Rattlestick's Artistic Director Daniella Topol (Ironbound) and starring Tony Award-nominated and four-time Obie-winning actress Kathleen Chalfant (Angels in America, Wit). Novenas for a Lost Hospital sets out to remember and celebrate St. Vincent's Hospital, the 161-year-old Catholic institution that treated victims of calamities from the sinking of the Titanic to September 11th. Guided by Saint Elizabeth Seton (Chalfant) and inspired by the caretakers and patients of St. Vincent's Hospital, this unique event takes a 60-person audience on an uplifting journey from an enclosed West Village garden to Rattlestick's intimate theater to the NYC AIDS Memorial Park. Project Springboard Announces 2019 Residencies, A NATION GROOVES: A PEOPLE'S HISTORY OF HIP-HOP And THE QUIET WORLD


Mara Isaacs, Director of Project Springboard: Developing Dance Musicals, today announced the recipients of the third annual residency awards: A Nation Grooves: A People's History of Hip-Hop, led by Kambi Gathesha (creator, director, choreographer), and Sinan Zafar (sound design, sonic dramaturgy); and The Quiet World, led by Charles Sutton (director, choreographer), Will Van Dyke (composer), and Matthew Greene (book). Both projects will be in residence June 10-28, 2019 in New York City.

Dorset Theatre Festival will open the 42nd Season on June 20 with a revival of Noel Coward's PRIVATE LIVES directed by Evan Yionoulis. Casting has also been announced for Wendy MacLeod's SLOW FOOD, the Festival's season closer. Peri Gilpin and Dan Butler, who played Roz Doyle and Bob "Bulldog" Briscoe on the NBC sitcom "Frasier," will star alongside Broadway veteran Greg Stuhr in this new comedy directed by Jackson Gay.

The Clubbed Thumb, True Love, and New York Theatre Workshop production of What the Constitution Means to Me will come to Broadway this spring for a 12-week limited engagement, beginning performances at the Helen Hayes Theater (240 W 44th Street, New York, NY) on March 14, 2019, with opening night scheduled for March 31. Heidi Schreck's timely and galvanizing play, directed by Oliver Butler, became a sensation off-Broadway this fall, where it extended twice at NYTW before transferring to the Greenwich House Theater. What the Constitution Means to Me will be produced on Broadway by Diana DiMenna, Aaron Glick, and Matt Ross.

Heidi Schreck's WHAT THE CONSTITUTION MEANS TO ME Will Transfer To The Greenwich House Theater


New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) (Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director Jeremy Blocker) will transfer Heidi Schreck's What the Constitution Means to Me to the Greenwich House Theater (27 Barrow Street) at the end of this month, extending its limited run to the end of the year. This immediate transfer, unprecedented in NYTW's history, is in response to the enormous and overwhelming response to Heidi Schreck's timely and powerful creation. Performed by two-time Obie Award winner Schreck (Grand Concourse, "I Love Dick") and directed by Obie Award winner Oliver Butler (The Amateurs, The Light Years), What the Constitution Means to Me began previews on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, and opened Sunday, September 30 at New York Theatre Workshop (79 E. 4th Street).
