Friday, February 9th at 7:30pm, the sketch comedy troupe Stealing From Work will be gracing (or perhaps disgracing) the stage of Middlebury’s Town Hall Theater with their newest show Artificial Irrelevance.
When putting the current season of shows together, the Vergennes Opera House programing committee pointed to March and said “we need something funny here!” Thus, the comedy troupe, Stealing from Work, was contacted and the show dates secured for Saturday March 25, 7:30pm.
Stealing from Work is back with a full show of brand-new sketch comedy written by Angie Albeck and Marianne DiMascio. This year's show, Sketch Victims Unit, plays Town Hall Theater in Middlebury on March 8 at 7pm.
Take 6 writers and give them 12 hours to write a ten minute play. Include some random ingredients, some curveballs, and one line chosen by the public. The next day, grab a director and? tons of actors, rehearse those shows and perform them that night at 7:30. That's Pop-Up Plays, popping up for the second year at Town Hall Theater tonight, March 7th at 7:30pm. The whole event takes place in 24 hours, which makes it the freshest theater experience around.
