Featured Poets:

Pamela Sneed is a poet, performer, visual artist, and educator. She is the author of Funeral Diva (City Lights, 2020). She teaches across disciplines in Columbia University’s visual arts MFA program, and is a guest faculty member in the Whitney ISP. She is the recipient of a Creative Capital grant in literature 2023 and a NYSCA grant in literature 2024. She is the performer and writer of a music show, A Tribute to Big Mama Thorton. She is a Tieger Mentor in the Arts at Cornell, fall 2024.

Anastacia-Reneé is a queer writer, educator, interdisciplinary artist, playwright, former radio host, TEDX speaker, and podcaster. She is the author of Here In The (Middle) Of Nowhere, Side Notes From The Archivist, (v.) and Forget It. Sidenotes from the Archivist was selected as one of “NYPL Best Books of 2023,” and, The American Library Associations (RUSA) “Notable Books of 2024.” She is a recipient of the James W. Ray Distinguished Artist Award (Literary) and she was selected by NBC News as part of the list of “Queer Artist of Color Dominate 2021’s Must See LGBTQ Art Shows,” for (Don’t Be Absurd) Alice in Parts, an installation at Frye Art Museum. Renee served as Seattle Civic Poet (2017-1019) during Seattle’s inaugural year of UNESCO status. Renee has been Hugo House Poet-in-Residence, and Jack Straw Curator. Their work has been published widely.

Bronx, New York native, Roya Marsh is a poet, performer, educator and activist. She is the author of dayliGht, a finalist for the Lambda Literary Award in Lesbian Poetry and the forthcoming SAVINGS TIME (MCDXFSG). Roya works feverishly toward Queer liberation and dismantling white supremacy. She is the co-founder of the Bronx Poet Laureate, a PEN America Emerging Voices Mentor, Lambda Literary faculty and the awardee of the Lotos Foundation Prize for Poetry and 2024 Bronx Recognizes Its Own (BRIO) Grant from Bronx Council on the Arts. Roya’s work has been featured in numerous places including, The Academy of American Poets, Poetry Magazine, the Village Voice, Nylon Magazine, Huffington Post, The Root, Button Poetry, BAM, Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, The Apollo Theater, Lexus Verses and Flow, On One with Angela Rye, BET and The BreakBeat Poets Vol 2: Black Girl Magic (Haymarket 2018).

Hosted by: JP Howard, a poet, educator, literary activist, and community builder. Her debut poetry collection, SAY/MIRROR (The Operating System), was a Lammy Award finalist. She is also the author of bury your love poems here (Belladonna*), Praise This Complicated Herstory: Legacy, Healing & Revolutionary Poems (Harlequin Creature) and co-editor of Sinister Wisdom Journal Black Lesbians–We Are the Revolution! JP is a featured Lesbian Poet Trading Card (Headmistress Press). JP was a Brooklyn College Tow Mentor-in-Residence. She has received fellowships and/or grants from Cave Canem, VONA, Lambda Literary, and Brooklyn Arts Council (BAC). She curates Women Writers in Bloom Poetry Salon. JP’s poetry and/or essays have been featured in POETRY Magazine, The New York Times, The Slowdown, The Academy of American Poets, Split this Rock, and elsewhere. JP is a Poetry Editor for Women’s Studies Quarterly and Editor-At-Large of Mom Egg Review VOX online.
