BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND! Tony nominated theatre luminary Austin Pendleton’s WARS OF THE ROSES: HENRY VI & RICHARD III, his adaptation of Shakespeare’s greatest villain, Richard III, returns for three nights only, December 3rd, 4th and 5th at Theater for The New City (155 First Avenue). The play combines texts from William Shakespeare’s Henry VI Part 3 and Richard III, to create a new version, that played to sold out houses and critical acclaim last summer. Pendleton stars as Henry VI with Matt de Rogatis as Richard III. WARS OF THE ROSES: HENRY VI & RICHARD III, co-directed by Austin Pendleton and Peter Bloch, provides a fascinating take on how Richard III evolved into the events that shaped his tyranny. There will be a talkback following each performance with Austin Pendleton and members of the cast.
Joining Austin Pendleton and Matt de Rogatis in the cast are: Jim Broaddus, John Constantine, Adam Dodway, Milton Elliott, Carolyn Groves, Debra Lass, Johanna Leister, Rachel Marcus, Pete McElligott, Brian Patrick Murphy, John L. Payne, Tomas Russo and Michael Villastrigo.
Tickets are $18. For tickets and further information visit www.proveavillain.com.
