Light and Desire is a dance work by NYC-based choreographer and teacher Colleen Thomas. Joined by a stellar cast of five international feminist collaborators, she takes a personal and universal look at how women hold, embody, and express power by creating their own form of radical expression during fascist times. The show, anchored by a short film by the award-winning filmmaker Carla Forte, features lighting design by Stacey-Jo Marine, intricate floral masks designed by Rebecca Makus, and original music composed by Robert Boston, with Jo Morris as a vocalist. World premiere. Presented by New York Live Arts as part of the Live Feed creative residency and commissioning program.
