If You Want to See the Devil utilizes unconventional storytelling; at times the performance may seem more like performance art than musical theater, at other times it may feel like a full blown rock and roll show. If You Want to See the Devil pulls from musical theater traditions, but also pays homage to the musicians who have walked the New York City streets. Blonde, David Bowie, Lou Reed, Andy Warhol, Madonna, and Cyndi Lauper should all be seen as references as much as any musical theater piece. If You Want to See the Devil aims to match what is essentially a concept album with a narrative and visual aesthetic that will be captivating, touching, humorous, and haunting.
