FLAMBOYAN is a performance art piece and immersive installation that uses improvisation and ritual to explore Puerto Rican identity, familial trauma, and womanhood. This story is woven through various self-love rituals with Puerto Rican traditions of brujeria, santeria and a connection to spirits. Using the body as tool, instrument, and temple, the artist engages the audience with a confrontation of pain in growth, forgiveness, and hate. Who do we honor in our lives? Who do we condemn? And, most importantly, what do we choose to do for who?Created and performed by Jordan ReedCo-dramaturg, co-director of photography, and model Irisdelia Garciaphotography by Annielly Carmago.
