ABOUT THIS SHOW
Beggars Rain is an experimental monologue in which writer/actor/director Robert Firpo-Cappiello portrays a protagonist known only as ‘‘Dooley’’ and a rich supporting cast of misfits, outcasts, heroes, and villains across Depression-era America. The piece veers from verse to vernacular, drawing on Elizabethan influences, the blues tradition, and early 20th-century American literary techniques to forge a unique voice suited to the brutality and tenderness of life on the road in the late 1930s.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Robert Firpo-Cappiello performed his 10-minute coming-of-age monologue Where We Put Frankie as part of the 2015 Bad Theater Fest last fall. Robert is a two-time Emmy nominee and may be familiar to television viewers for his frequent appearances on PIX11 Morning News and the Weather Channel’s AMHQ. He made his show business debut at the age of five on WOR-TV’s Romper Room.
