Reston Community Players Presents TIME STANDS STILL

Take a look inside a Brooklyn couple's relationships and societal issues in the aftermath of a warzone as Reston Community Players continues its 52nd season with the drama Time Stands Still. The critically-acclaimed play runs March 1-16, 2019 at Reston Community Center's CenterStage, 2310 Colts Neck Road in Reston, Va.

"Time Stands Still reflects the complexity of life at home, at work and among friends," said Adam Konowe, who directs the production. "It demonstrates that what fulfills us in one sense can be destructive elsewhere. Most importantly, it reinforces that truth - portrayed here through journalism - is worth fighting for and serves society well, even when the news it conveys is difficult to comprehend or appreciate. This is truly a play that could have been ripped from today's headlines, covering the full range of emotions from love to betrayal, pride to envy, and commitment to dissolution."

Time Stands Still examines the lives and relationship of one couple making a living out of documenting the horrors of war. When Sarah, a photojournalist, returns from covering the Iraq War after being injured by a roadside bomb, her reporter boyfriend James is swamped by guilt after having left Sarah alone in Iraq. Physically bruised and emotionally beaten, Sarah and James explore whether it is possible for two people who are used to living in dangerous conditions to carve out a normal life. Written by Donald Margulies, Time Stands Still was nominated for two Tony Awards, including Best Play.

Leading the cast of Time Stands Still are Sarah Goodwin as Jane Steffan and Greg Lang as James Dodd. They are joined by Todd Hulse as Richard Ehrlich and Alex Sands as Mandy Bloom.

In addition to Konowe, the Time Stands Still production team includes Colleen Stock (Producer), Karen Schlumpf (Asst. Director), Sandy Dotson (Stage Manager), Andy Regiec (Set Designer), John Turner (Master Carpenter), Rich Farella (Sound Designer), Mary Jo Ford (Properties Designer), Lori Crockett (Costume Designer), and Larissa Norris (Makeup Designer).

For tickets, contact the box office at (703) 476-4500 x3 or online at www.restonplayers.org. CenterStage is accessible and offers listening devices for the hearing impaired.
