Great Lakes Theater Announces Auditions for Actor/Teachers

Great Lakes Theater (GLT) announces auditions for non-Equity actor/teachers for its School Residency Program for the 2019 – 2020 school year. GLT seeks actors of diverse cultures, perspectives, skills and experiences. These are full-time, seasonal, paid positions, offered from August/September, 2019 through May, 2020.

Requirements include an undergraduate degree in any discipline, as well as previous stage experience or actor training. Teaching experience or prior work with elementary, junior high or high school age students is a plus, but not required. Applicants must have a valid driver license, a reliable automobile and complete a background check.

Applicants are requested to prepare one Shakespearean monologue and one contrasting contemporary monologue for the audition. Both monologues should total no more than three minutes combined.

The deadline for audition appointments is Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. Auditions will take place on Monday May 6, 2019. Callbacks will take place on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 and are by invitation only. Great Lakes Theater is an equal opportunity employer.
