Cady Huffman to Direct CURIOUS INCIDENT at Weathervane

Producing Artistic Director Ethan Paulini has announced that Tony Award Winner Cady Huffman will direct the Weathervane Theatre's production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time as part of season 54. Based on the novel by Mark Haddon and adapted by Simon Stephens, Curious Incident premiered in London at the National Theatre before transferring to Broadway where it was awarded the 2015 Tony Award for Best Play. Curious Incident joins the alternating rep on August 12. Casting and creative team info will be announced in the coming weeks.

Fifteen-year-old Christopher has an extraordinary brain; he is exceptionally intelligent but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. When he falls under suspicion for killing his neighbor's dog, he sets out to identify the true culprit, which leads to an earth-shattering discovery and a journey that will change his life forever. This internationally lauded play enjoyed a two year run!

"I saw Curious Incident on Broadway twice." Says Paulini in a statement "While the spectacle and technical prowess of Marianne Elliot's remarkable production was exciting, what really struck me was the immediacy and clarity of the story telling. Of course, the thought of following in the shadow of such an iconic, landmark production is daunting, Nonetheless, I knew that it was imperative to bring this show to North Country audiences. To say I am humbled that Cady has agreed to join us as director would be an understatement. An incredible artist matched with a top notch creative team will absolutely make this a production to remember."

Cady Huffman (Director) Throughout her more than 30 years as a performer Tony winning actress, Cady Huffman has also written, produced and directed for theater and film as well as mentoring young writers, directors and musicians.
