Set in the beginning of World War II, Cliff Bradshaw continues his journey to find suitable material to become a world-famous novelist. Fraulein Schneider runs an apartment complex in Berlin and rents a room to Cliff. Cliff is taken to the dark and seedy Kit Kat Klub where he meets Sally Bowles. Frau Schneider and Herr Schultz consider marriage. All this happens under the dark loom of the impending Nazi regime.
