Jan McArt's New Play Readings At Lynn University Presents STANDING AT THE GATES OF JANUS

Lynn University and Jan McArt, producer and director of theatre arts program development, today announced Farce and Away by Michael McKeever will be replaced by Standing at the Gates of Janus by Tony Finstrom.

"In addition to being our associate producer, Tony was an accomplished and published playwright," said McArt. "We opened every season with a Tony Finstrom play that I would star in, but he wasn't well in October, so we postponed The Diamond Girl, hoping he would be able to finish it later. When he passed away in December, we located another of his plays, a wonderful work that takes place in Texas during the Vietnam era, and we are proud to present it in memory of and in tribute to our dear friend."

Standing at the Gates of Janus

Written by Tony Finstrom

Directed by Wayne Rudisill

· Monday: 7:30 p.m.

The Gates of Janus stood open during times of war, except during Vietnam. War was a controversial subject in 1972-especially when a high-profile movie star brings her controversial show to Texas. The high-spirited soldiers working in the U.S. Army Public Information Office know it's the story of a lifetime and want to get her interview. But since the movie star is banned an anti-war traitor, the Bongo Beat club is off limits to all military personnel.
