Faust Theatre continues their 2018-2019 season with LIZZIE a Rock Opera, by Steven Cheslik-deMeyer, Tim Maner, & Alan Stevens Hewitt in their first-even co-production with The Arts Asylum, their longtime venue partner!

LIZZIE stars Maurissa Cunningham in the titular role, Emma Jo Mathieson as Alice Russell, Sarah Elizabeth McGuire as Emma Borden, and Pamela Minthorn as Bridget Sullivan.

LIZZIE marks the directorial debut of Adee Dancy, Faust Theatre Artistic Director and Resident Music Director. Adee will also Music Direct. Of the show, Dancy says, "So many know the chilling rhyme about Lizzie Borden recited in childhood: "Lizzie Borden took an axe, gave her mother forty whacks; when she saw what she had done, gave her father forty-one." What most may not know is the heartbreaking tale of Lizzie Borden's life before she was accused of killing her father and stepmother. And we want to show a new and important side of the story - causing viewers to question their own moral compasses and ask themselves the question: guilty or innocent?

About the show: "On a sweltering summer morning in 1892, in a small New England city, a prominent businessman and his wife were brutally axed to death in their home. Their daughter Lizzie Borden was the prime suspect. Lizzie's trial was a coast-to-coast media sensation, and her story has become an American legend. Told by four women front a six-piece rock band, LIZZIE promises a story of revenge, sex, betrayal, and bloody, unsolved murder, with epic rock anthems and plenty of headbanging; reminiscent of artists like Heart and the Runaways."

The production includes Randall Jackson (Stage Manager), Alex Perry (Lighting Designer), and Adee Dancy & Zach Faust (Costume Designers).

LIZZIE runs only one weekend, March 21 - 24 at the Arts Asylum, 1000 E. 9thStreet, Kansas City, MO 64106. For more information, go to fausttheatre.com, or directly to lizziekc@eventbrite.com #hacked
