KOTSU-KOTSU PROJECT Coming to New National Theatre This March!

The KOTSU-KOTSU PROJECT is playing at New National Theatre March 1st to March 31st, 2019.

This project develops works throughout an entire year, with Artistic Director's intention of "providing space and time for creators to experiment with what could not be achieved in the usual rehearsal period of one month: create, discard everything and create again."

This season, we will present a Reading Performance as the first step in this sequence. This will be followed by regular sessions, with a "kotsu-kotsu" or "step-by-step" long-term goal in mind, involving ongoing dialogue and communication between creators, Artistic Director and the theatre staff to further polish the work before finally presenting the piece as part of the progamme. The aim is to develop the work unimpeded by time constraints or pressure of the opening and to allow creators to share and explore their concerns thus enabling greater comprehension of the work.

Three up-and-coming directors who are supportive of the idea will be working on this project.
