Welcome to this week's edition of BroadwayWorld's exclusive WEEKLY GROSSES ANALYSIS - read on for all the weekly grosses statistics for the movers and shakers from the latest grosses, for the week ending 3/31/2019.

Scott Rudin announced today that the new Broadway production of TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, Aaron Sorkin's new play, directed by Bartlett Sher, and based on Harper Lee's classic novel, has once again shattered its own box office record at the Shubert Theatre, and the record for the highest weekly gross for an American play on Broadway. The record-breaking gross of $1,718,214.84 (week ending 3/31) is also the highest-ever weekly gross of any play in the history of The Shubert Organization. This is the second time the production has broken its own one-week box office record.

Since performances began on Thursday, November 1, 2018, To Kill a Mockingbird has not played to an empty seat, with capacity at 100% or greater for every performance in the 1,460-seat theater. The advance currently stands at more than $22 million, with total sales at $52 million.

This week, 37 shows played on Broadway, with 313,513 tickets sold and a total gross of $36,822,965. The average ticket price was $117.45.

This was up the number of shows as last week and up 2 vs. the same week last year. Compared to last week, attendance was up 4.97%. Versus last year, attendance was down -1.91%. On the sales front, overall grosses were up 7.66% vs. last week and down -12.36% vs. this week last year. This week's average ticket price of $117.45 is up $2.93 compared to last week and down $-14.01 compared to last year.
