As part of their 50th anniversary celebration, the community theatre JAKARTA PLAYERS (JP) is producing LONGING FOR LOVE, a presentation of five one-act plays. The show will take place on May 24-26 at L'Institut Français d'Indonésie, Thamrin, Jakarta.

BWW Previews: Find the Many Shades of Love in JAKARTA PLAYERS' LONGING FOR LOVE This May

LONGING FOR LOVE will be JP's first production after 2017's BEYOND THERAPY. The plays will be directed by JP veterans Andrew Trigg and Heriska Sutapha; all five plays share the theme of love -- not only romantic love, but also the love shared between friends and family.

Funny and dramatic, Longing for Love is more than just a typical comedy or romance. Women in a support group share colourful stories of lost love. In chance encounters, strangers from different worlds discover they have much more in common than they thought. A veteran's return to his hometown reignites childhood passions. And friends on a train come to the end of the line -- with each other.

Director Andrew Trigg explains, "At a time when there's so much division in the world, I'm excited to be showcasing plays that explore the deep human need for connection and empathy - and how beautiful it is when you find it. All five short plays are highly entertaining and brilliantly-written. They'll make you chuckle and warm your heart with the sparks and tingles of live theater!"

This event is supported by Institut Français d'Indonésie and sponsored by Asian Tigers Mobility, Fortuna U, Wishplus Genie, Red Lipstick, BookMyShow, Tokopedia, PouchNation, LiveLife, Gelato Secrets, Go-tix, Sophie Authentique, and PATOPO.
