Review: ANNIE at Cape Fear Regional Theatre

Cape Fear Regional Theatre brings to life the little orphan we all know and love.

Whether it is one of the filmed versions or a live production, one of the most common "first musicals" among young thespians is Annie. CFRT's production brings that nostalgia factor back into our hearts.

Lily Hogge (Annie) was a singing powerhouse in such a little body. Even when her costar Yankee Doodle Farmer (Sandy) decided to take a stroll off the stage during "Tomorrow", Hogge casually ran back and picked him up without missing a beat. She and Robert Newman (Daddy Warbucks) truly had that daddy/daughter chemistry we have all grown to know and love.

Erin Fish (Miss. Hannigan) truly embodied one of the most infamous "love to hate" characters ever put to stage or screen. Every time She, Greg King (Rooster), and Jodi Bluestein (Lily) were on stage you could see how much fun they were having with their roles.

All the orphans were amazing for their age. They all knew their lines and choreography and performed them flawlessly. They were given a lot of responsibilities in this production. Some of the kids were even helping move set pieces in between scenes.

Annie at Cape Fear Regional Theatre is a must-see for families and fans of all ages!
