SEEKING

Equity actor/singers for various roles

We are most interested in authentic, grounded, natural actor/singers.
Open to various levels of instrument ability, especially with adult roles.
Extremely interested in actors of all ethnicities.
Transgender & gender non-conforming actors encouraged to attend.

PREPARATION

Roles 1-13: Please prepare a short song that you can accompany yourself on. Any style of music you enjoy is acceptable. Please plan to play and sing at the same time. There will be a piano and guitar available in the room, but feel free to bring your own instrument. If you play additional instruments, please plan to bring those with you. There will not be a pianist provided at these auditions, as all cast members must have instrumental abilities.

Role 14: Please prepare a short monologue.

Seeking

Role 1 (16/m) Part romantic and part punk. Sensitive & open, with a rebellious streak. Full of natural confidence & charisma. Plays guitar/electric guitar. Tenor.

Role 2 (18/f) Her exterior is incredibly cool and confident, which masks the complicated, vulnerable, damaged girl underneath. Plays Guitar or piano.

Role 3 (21/m) Stoner brother. Intelligent and charismatic with an incredible passion for music, but stuck. Plays guitar.

Role 4 (18/f) The ‘brains’ of the family. Stoic and strong. Under immense pressure to succeed. Plays guitar or piano or string instrument.

Role 5 (16/m) Gawky, nerdy school mate. A go getter and problem solver. Plays guitar/bass guitar or piano or drums or string instrument.

Role 6 (16/m) A musical prodigy, hampered by anxiety and a lack of confidence. Plays multiple instruments, including guitar/bass guitar and piano.

Role 7 (16/m) Violent school bully, with a complicated home life. A tough exterior covering something painful. Plays piano.

Role 8 (16/m) A cocky, confident show off. Plays piano.

Role 9 (18-21/m) Dim, but sweet and enthusiastic. Plays Drum kit.

Role 10 (16/m) A bit odd, but well meaning & excitable. Plays bass guitar.

Role 11 (L40’s-50’s/m) Unhappily married, worn down and financially strapped. Prone to angry outbursts as he loses control of his own household. Plays basic piano or guitar.

Role 12 (L40’s-50’s/f) A dreamer whose dreams never came true. Unhappily married and financially strapped, she looks outside her marriage to find connection. Plays basic piano or guitar or string instrument.

Role 13 (L40’s-50’s/f) A supportive mother. Working class. An artist at heart. Funny and tough. Plays basic piano.


Role 14 (40’s-60’s/m) Consumed by maintaining status and control. A boiling pot of rage. No singing or instruments required.
