PREPARATION
Sides will be provided at least two weeks in advance of the scheduled appointment, or at the audition location if walking-in.

BREAKDOWN
Dotty Otley/Mrs. Clackett- (40s-50s+) British. Theater actress. Overwhelmed at times, she struggles to remember blocking, props, and lines. Cares deeply for her castmates, but can be spiteful when spurned. Having in an affair with her significantly younger castmate, Garry. In Nothing On, she plays Mrs. Clackett, the Brent’s Cockney housekeeper. Earnest and hospitable, if a little slow in fulfilling her duties. All Ethnicities. All body types.
Brooke Ashton/Vicki- (18-30) British. Young, idealistic, inexperienced. Very attractive, but maybe not such a great actress. A bit ditzy. Blind without her contacts. Having an affair with Lloyd Dallas, the director. In Nothing On, Brooke plays Vicki, an Englishwoman who secretly works for the tax authority, and is trying to woo Roger. All Ethnicities. All body types.
Belinda Blair/Flavia Brent- (30s/40s) British. Talented, veteran actress. Charming, reliable, positive. Knows all the gossip. In Nothing On, Belinda plays Flavia, an Englishwoman, who secretly tries to use the house in the play for a romantic getaway with her husband, Philip. All Ethnicities. All body types.
Poppy Norton-Taylor- (18-30) British. The assistant stage manager of Nothing On. Hard-working. Invested in the production. Overworked to the point of exhaustion. Secretly having an affair with Lloyd Dallas, the director. Understudying Brooke and filling in wherever she needs to. All Ethnicities. All body types.
Lloyd Dallas- (40-50s+) British. The director of Nothing On. Passionate, smooth, suave, charming, sarcastic. Perhaps a bit snooty at times. Has a temper that he works to keep in check during rehearsals. Secretly having an affair both Brooke and Poppy. All Ethnicities. All body types.
Garry Lejeune/Roger Tramplemain- (30s/40s) British. Professional. Easily excited. Tries to keep the show going. Prone to jealousy. Expresses himself vaguely, and rarely finishes his sentences. Having an affair with Dotty. In Nothing On, he plays Roger Tramplemain, an English real estate agent who is attempting to rent the house to a Sheikh as well as use it as a place to secretly cavort with Vicki. All Ethnicities. All body types.
Frederick Fellowes/Philip Brent/Sheikh- (30s/40s) British. Sweet, neurotic, a little bumbling. Sometimes oblivious. Always has questions about blocking or motivation. Faints at the sight of blood. Often gets nosebleeds. Often doubts himself. His wife left him during the rehearsal process. In Nothing On, he plays both Philip Brent and the Sheikh. Philip Brent is English and owns the house in which the play takes place, but is living in Spain to avoid taxes. The Sheikh is a wealthy man of Middle Eastern descent, who is interested in renting the house. All Ethnicities. All body types.
Selsdon Mowbray/Burglar- (70s) British. An aging, veteran actor. Forgetful. Often falls asleep. Alcoholic. Has a reputation for drinking on the job. Selectively hard-of-hearing. In Nothing On, he plays the Burglar, who is Cockney, and breaks into the Brent household. All Ethnicities. All body types.
Tim Allgood- (20-30) British. The production’s stage and company manager. Exhausted. Over-worked. Sleep-deprived. Understudies Selsdon and Frederick in Nothing On. Earnest. Frantic. Nervous. All Ethnicities. All body types.
