BREAKDOWN

seeking

Nora Helmer: Mid 40s/early 50s, looks younger. Well dressed. She cares about the way she looks. Everything about her scream status. She is a strong-willed woman, very rational, matter-of-fact. She knows what she wants, and how to get it. She has learned to fight for what she believes in and won’t give up.

Torvald Helmer: Early 50s, looks slightly older. He likes routines and is very predictable. A quiet man, who only speaks when it’s necessary. Hard worker, but he has no passion for his job. He is dedicated to providing for his children. He is not very outgoing and would rather be left alone. He considers Anne Marie family, and is very fond of her because she mothered his children.

Anne Marie: Mid 60s and proud to show it. An old-fashioned nanny, who has been there since forever and considers the Helmers her own family. She is very protective and sassy. She is still attached to Nora, since she had been her nanny back in the days and has followed her career. She knows her place in the hierarchy of the family, but that doesn’t preclude her from speaking her mind, occasionally. She knows what’s best, if they would only listen.

Emmy Helmer: Late teen/early 20s. Extremely put together, wants to look older. She is opinionated, and rational. She is a lot like her mother. She thinks she is clever and likes to show off. She secretly thinks she is running the house. She calls her father by his first name, as if they were equal. She claims she holds no bad feelings towards Nora, but she disapproves of her lifestyle and ideas.
