Following the tremendous success of Simbury, CT playwright, Betsy Maguire’s 2024 production, "The Seat Beside Her," we are thrilled to announce the upcoming presentation of "The Seat Beside Her, 2." This highly anticipated sequel will take the stage for an inspiring series of performances on March 7, 8, and 9, 2025, in celebration of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month. "The Seat Beside Her, 2" promises to captivate audiences with an evening of all-new one-act plays, each crafted to spotlight compelling women from both history and contemporary times. These plays will be presented as staged readings, offering a unique and intimate experience as they bring these remarkable women into conversation with each other. In addition to the performances, audiences will have the opportunity to participate in a brief talk-back session following each reading, providing a space for dialogue and reflection on the themes and stories presented. Join us for this powerful exploration of women’s stories, their struggles, and their triumphs, as we celebrate their contributions and draw connections between past and present.
