Yale Rep's TWELFTH NIGHT Cast and Creative Team Announced

Yale Repertory Theatre (James Bundy, Artistic Director; Victoria Nolan, Managing Director) presents Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare, directed by Carl Cofield, at the University Theatre (222 York Street), March 15-April 6. Opening Night is Thursday, March 21.

The production features choreography by Byron Easley, music compositions and sound design by Frederick Kennedy, scenic design by Riw Rakkulchon, costumes by Mika H. Eubanks, lighting by Samuel Chan Kwan Chi, projections by Brittany Bland, dramaturgy by Molly FitzMauriceand Patrick Young, technical direction by David Phelps, dialect and vocal coaching by Beth McGuire, fight direction by Rick Sordelet, casting by Tara Rubin/Laura Schutzel CSA, stage management by Abigail Gandyand assistant stage manager Zachry J. Bailey.

The cast includes Abubakr Mohamed Ali, Erron Crawford, William DeMeritt, Denzel Fields, Allen Gilmore, Tiffany Denise Hobbs, Moses Ingram, Wesley T. Jones, Manu Netfa Heywot Kumsai, Chivas Michael, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino, Stephon Pettway, Jakeem Dante Powell, Raffeal A. Sears, Malenky Welsh, and Brit West.

Separated from her twin brother in a shipwreck, Viola disguises herself as a man and falls in love with her new employer Orsino, who dotes on OIivia, who falls for Cesario, who's really Viola. And that's before Sebastian washes ashore in search of his missing sister. In director Carl Cofield's vibrant Afro-futurist production, Shakespeare's most wonderful romantic comedy brims with music and dances to the heartbeat of unrequited love.

Yale Repertory Theatre is one of 40 professional theater companies selected to participate in bringing the finest productions of Shakespeare to middle- and high-school students in communities across the United States.
