2019 CAPA Summer Movie Series Kicks Off With 50¢ Admission For All Showings Opening Weekend June 14-16

The CAPA Summer Movie Series, the longest-running classic film series in America, opens the 2019 series at the Ohio Theatre with Casablanca June 14-16. In celebration of CAPA's 50th anniversary, admission to all four showings during opening weekend is 50¢.

Casablanca (1942)

Friday, June 14, 7:30 pm

Saturday, June 15, 7:30 pm

Sunday, June 16, 2 pm & 7:30 pm

Ohio Theatre (39 E. State St.)

Winner of three Oscars including Best Picture, Casablanca topped the American Film Institute's list of America's Greatest Love Stories. Bogart and Bergman sizzle as star-crossed lovers fighting an ill-fated and powerful attraction while caught in a web of WWII politics, espionage, and deceit. Tickets for opening weekend (June 14-16 only) are 50¢ at the Ohio Theatre kiosk (cash only). All tickets are general admission and seating is on a first come, first served basis.

The 2019 CAPA Summer Movie Series is made possible through the generous support of PVS Chemicals.

Clark Wilson, celebrating his 28th anniversary as official organist for the CAPA Summer Movie Series, will provide pre-show and intermission entertainment at the keys of the Ohio Theatre's "Mighty Morton" theatre organ beginning 30 minutes prior to show time.

As part of a year-long collaboration in support of CAPA's 50th anniversary and Columbus College of Art & Design's 140th anniversary, the 2019 CAPA Summer Movie Series will show film, video, and animation shorts from CCAD student filmmakers prior to both Sunday feature-length screenings at 2 pm and 7:30 pm.

CAPA Summer Movie Series ticket strips, one of central Ohio's best entertainment bargains, can be purchased now through Sunday, July 28, at the CAPA Ticket Center (39 E. State St.) or www.capa.com. Strips of 10 tickets are $30, a savings of $2 per ticket off day-of-show prices. Phone orders for strip tickets can be placed by calling (614) 469-0939. For more information or to download an order form, please visit www.capa.com. Strip tickets are good for any film in any combination.
