Moscow Ballet Announces Summer Intensives For 8 To 20 Year Ballet Students In 6 US Cities

Due to popular demand, Moscow Ballet announces week-long Summer Intensive sessions for American Ballet Students ages 8 to 20 years in 7 cities across the country. The Summer Intensives will be taught by Moscow Ballet Soloists Alisa Bolotnikova and Yuriy Kuzo, both members of the performing company and experienced ballet teachers. The Russian trained dancers started their ballet studies at an early age and graduated from highly respected ballet academies per Russian standards.

The comprehensive Summer Intensive program simulates Russian teaching methods by offering the opportunity to study a) Russian ballet technique, b) ballet character methods, and c) execution of classic ballet repertory. The Intensives are presented in a supportive environment giving ballet students from beginners to advanced levels the opportunity to develop their technical, artistic skills and performing skills. Alisa Bolotnikova 's favorite roles are as Scheherazade in Arabian Nights, Gypsy Zhelobinsky in Don Quixote, and Mother in the ballet Isadora Duncan. She performed as a folk dancer in Bulgaria and as a Modern dancer in Japan. Her education includes graduating from Kharkov University in Ballet and graduating from Kharkov National Academy of Municipal Economy with a degree as Engineer Economist too. Alisa has a Teacher of Choreography degree from Kherson National University and Masters of Choreography from Kharkov State Academy of Culture.

Yuriy Kuzo graduated from Lviv College of Culture and Arts and received a degree in Choreography from Drohobych Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University. After graduating from Lviv College of Culture and Arts, he worked as a teacher and leader of the Honored Dance Ensemble of Ukraine "Yunist." The head of "Yunist" became a mentor and taught him how to become a professional artist, teacher and leader. Yuriy was invited to join the Lviv National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet where he performed the Spanish Dance in Swan Lake; Espado, Bolero and Jig in Don Quixote; Birbanto in Le Corsaire; and many more solo roles.

Moscow Ballet - 2019 marks the 27th annual North American tour of Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet and more classic Russian ballets. In many tour cities Moscow Ballet implements its signature Community Engagement programs, "Dance with Us," "New Horizons - A Children's Program for Life," and Musical Wunderkind, engaging American children of all ages and abilities in interactive art experiences. www.moscowballet.com. Principal dancers include Iryna Borysova, recipient of Bronze from Kiev's International Ballet Competition; Alexandra Elagina noted as "brimful with feeling" by NYTimes Chief Dance Critic Alastair Macaulay; and Natalia Gubanova, graduate of the St Petersburg Vaganova Ballet Academy. Kostyantyn Vinovoy has been named Honored Artist of Ukraine; Sergey Klyatchin, 2017 Gold Prize winner of Italy's Teatro Greco Festival; Rustem Imangaliyev won Best Arabesque at Russia's International Ballet Competition in Perm.
