Classic Rock Band America Heads to Ovens Auditorium

Ovens Auditorium will host the classic rock band America during their 50th anniversary tour on Thursday, Aug, 15, 2019, at 8 p.m. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 29 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com, at all Ticketmaster outlets or at the Bojangles' Coliseum Box Office located at 2700 E. Independence Blvd. Tickets start at $54.50 (plus applicable service charges) and are subject to change.

The iconic rock favorite America has amassed six certified gold and/or platinum albums with their first greatest hits collection, "History," hitting over four million in sales. The Grammy Award winners' widely renowned singles including "Horse With No Name," "Sister Golden Hair," "I Need You," "Ventura Highway," "Don't Cross the River," "Tin Man" and "Lonely People" were considered cornerstones of the 1970s Top 40 and FM rock radio.

America continues to be a band capable of transcending borders with their uplifting music and positive message. Embracing a rainbow of divergent cultures, America's audience continues to grow and comprises a loyal legion of first, second and third generation fans.

Ovens Auditorium, located adjacent to Bojangles' Coliseum, opened in 1955.
