CPCC Theatre will perform one of the greatest American musicals of all time, "Gypsy," Feb. 15 - 24, on the college's Halton Theater stage.

Arthur Laurents, Jule Styne and Stephen Sondheim's "Gypsy" tells the story of the dreams and efforts of Mama Rose, a hungry, powerhouse of a woman, to get her two daughters into show business.

Loosely based on the 1957 memoir of famous striptease artist Gypsy Rose Lee, "Gypsy" focuses on the story of Mama Rose, who, after seeing her youngest daughter (June) have a successful career in vaudeville, turns her attention to her oldest daughter (Louise) who, to her chagrin, winds up becoming the renowned burlesque stripper Gypsy Rose Lee.
