Hershey Symphony Adds Second Performance Of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR

Hershey Symphony Orchestra is proud to present the acclaimed musical Jesus Christ Superstar on stage at The Hershey Theatre, March 16, 2019 at 2 pm and 8 pm

With music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, this groundbreaking musical brings rock and opera together to tell the story of the Easter Passion. Jesus Christ Superstar is a timeless work that tells the familiar story through the unfamiliar lens of Jesus' betrayer.

"We were looking for ambitious concerts to mark our 50th season, and staging one of the most popular Broadway musicals in the world with rock band, nearly twenty cast members and a 70-piece orchestra certainly fits that bill. To hear the score live, from beginning to end, with a big symphony orchestra, is a once-in-a-lifetime experience," said Hershey Symphony Orchestra Executive Director Paul Metzger.

The cast features Sean Young as Jesus Christ, Clayton Lee as Judas Iscariot, Stacia Smith as Mary Magdalene, Dennis Norton as Pontius Pilate, Gene Ellis as Caiaphas, Eric Pope as Annas, Todd Snovel as Herod and Nick Smith as Peter. Other cast members include Preston Cuer, Cara Ditzler, Karey Getz, Erica Young, Kristie Ohlinger, Susan Cort, Kevin Ditzler, Rick Graybill and Jeff Zufelt. JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR is presented by arrangement with The Musical Company, LP.

Tickets start at $17 and may be purchased at the Hershey Theatre Box Office at (717) 534-3405 or through Ticketmaster. For more information, please visit www.HersheySymphony.org.
