Review: Disney's 5 MINUTE HALLOWEEN STORIES

Looking for a great book to read to the little ones this week leading up to Halloween--or even right after, when the kids are still reliving their memories?

Disney's 5 MINUTE HALLOWEEN STORIES has something for everyone! From Pixar to Disney, from classics to modern hits, the whole family can read about beloved characters such as Mickey Mouse, Peter Pan, Baymax, Cinderella, Wreck-It Ralph, Sully and Mike, the Emotions of Inside Out, Tiana, Winnie the Pooh, Alice in Wonderland, and Pinocchio.

I don't personally think there's a huge line between "girl books" and "boy books," but I know other families do. Why can't girls like superheroes? Why can't boys be enamored with princesses? (I know one who has the biggest crush on Snow White and it's adorable!) The greatest thing about this book is that no matter if you feel there's a line or not, there are stories for both genders. The entire family will enjoy the stories in this book!

I really like the way the book blended characters that today's youth may not know as well with their popular CGI counterparts. It isn't often you see storybooks with Pinocchio and Peter Pan, or even ones featuring newer movies such as Big Hero 6 and Wreck-It Ralph! I also love that there are some great Pixar characters, and that this isn't just the "Disney Princess Book" like it could have been. There's also a good mix of time periods enclosed. Some stories take place before the movie, some during, and some after. My favorite "before" story is from Monsters, Inc. and my favorite "after" story is from Inside Out.

The stories aren't super spooky, so they're fun to read even to the youngest of kids--in fact, toddlers will love seeing a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Winnie the Pooh story! The artwork is adorable--my favorite scenes came from the Inside Out and Tangled stories.

At only five minutes a pop, it's easy to read a couple of these before bedtime or first thing in the morning. Kids will love them and be excited to re-live one of their favorite holidays, because who doesn't love Halloween?
