Good god, most of you are ridiculous. A 30 second clip is not even remotely enough to judge ANYTHING upon. MIght It suck? Sure. Might it be only adequate? Yes, again. but maybe, just maybe it will be......good? Or spectacular? I don't pretend to know which is will be at all.
YES, I realize they put this "out there" as a temptation/interest getter, and yes, you are allowed to judge just that. Lets not lose sight of the big picuture.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

The show was spectacular in Chicago - saw it multiple times. If I remember correctly, Tommy doesn't even sing in "Pinball Wizard" in the show. If that's right, I'm not sure why they used him singing it in this promo. Either way, take a look at the glowing reviews from Chicago rather than judge the entire show by this odd snippet.
Tommy sings a reprise of Pinball Wizard in Act 2. Color me unimpressed by the promos but aside from the 15th anniversary concert I have never seen Tommy on stage so I'll check the revival out at some point.
just saw TOMMY. While enjoyed it, I found it hard to follow, was it just me or did others find it confusing? Also, has anyone heard if they will be recording a cast album of this production,?
