Try to go to ballet when we visit NYC and we went to see They Royal Ballet of London version of the Nutcracker last December. My youngest daughter has danced in two ballet companies but is now just teaching and doing choreography. Will be interested in reading your blog.

I'm not a ballet or opera fan, but I have a question for those who are...

Not familiar with either, I had heard that different venues (such as the Met) split their season between the two. I heard operas are usually in the fall / winter while ballets are usually performed in the spring / summer. 

Is there any truth to that?

I believe the ABT (American Ballet Theater) has a spring season that starts in May and fall season that starts in October.
