HADESTOWN SEATING?

I'm sorry if this has been previously discussed. I searched but couldn't find a previous thread. I know that it's difficult to know because previews haven't started, but does anyone know if front row is too close at the Kerr?

It's 100 less expensive than the rows directly behind it, which is a big difference. I like sitting close, but I'm 6'2 so that can sometimes be a problem. And with a show that will have a lot going on, it's probably not the best move. Any thoughts? I would wait, but I'm only in town this weekend, when previews are starting.

Thanks!

Having only seen photos of the set at the Walter Kerr I would say avoid it like the plague.

Below is the Hadestown discussion link.  I believe the photos are around page 8 or 9:

I saw Amelie at Walter Kerr front row orchestra and it was full view and was amazing. Stage wasn't that high and Id' say the floor of the stage is on the same level as my chin when sitting down (I'm 5'9).

Here's another photo from aviewfrommyseat from row C at springsteen:

I think the front row looks like it will be amazing, with a ton of legroom:

Thank you everyone for your help, these photos look like it will be OK. I guess we never know until it starts but it looks good. I appreciate the help!

I say go for it.

90% of the show happens in that tiny wooden set of circles in the pics, the rest of the staging is just for the band.

I saw it 3 times in London and the only time I really enjoyed it was from the 3rd row. It’s a tiny show crammed into a tiny space so I felt totally disconnected from it in the mezzanine visits.

Looks like there’s decent leg room as well.

Enjoy the spinning x

by the time I got back the front row was gone....so I had to splurge on the 3rd row, centre aisle. I was already having a bit of buyer's remorse but your message made me feel better! If I don't like the show, at least I know I had a great seat. (I always need to be close, regardless of the show)

thank you!

Question (especially for after the previews begin):

Does the back of the orchestra –or especifically, the part where the mezzanine overhangs– have a blocked view of Hades' balcony/terrace (the part of the stage with the green door)? Or is it low enough?

Glad you grabbed a seat close up, but you and I have opposing preferences.  I usually get loge or front mezzanine for musicals because I like to see the entire stage picture and appreciated the choreography from above.

I'm wondering from the picture of the stage if the revolve is actually thrusting a bit past the original proscenium.  That would certainly make the production even more intimate.

Eagerly await your report from the preview.

Now that more people have seen it...

It appears the options for $159 seats (not counting fees) for the days I'm looking at are:

- Mid-orchestra sides, rows K thru P, five seats from the aisle

- Orchestra center, Row Q

- Third row of the mezzanine, mostly sides (although one night I'm looking at still has center available)

Any preferences? Any issues with the overhang? If on the side, which side is better?

They sell “day of” box seats for $99 and the view was perfect

We sat 3 rows from the back and thought the seats were awesome. Nothing was missed with the mezzanine overhang. We were center orchestra on the isle and I want to say row S, but I'm not sure. There were two rows behind us though.

Saw it Mezzanine G5. Amazing seats for 50 dollars saw everything. Small enough theatre that every seat is fine.

Did you get that price through the pre-sale?

I was there last night (saturday) and was in 2nd row orchestra. On aisle. Needless to say it was perfect. Front row seats are not the high premium because stage is a bit higher and those sitting there were having to look up.  I imagine the view of feet was cut off.  2nd row saw feet but not stage floor.  So much us played to middle  hermes is mostly stage left when watching.  Orpheus mostly stage right.  Awesome show and was sold out. Noted in other thread but hermes fringe caught fire from candle and he was unaware but a fate walked over and snuffed it out.  Thise fares just know!

Side mezzanine rows G-J were $49 only on the first day of the original presale. They went up the next day.

I was lucky enough to snag mezzanine row G seat 1 on the first day of presale for $49. It was the *perfect* seat. This show is definitely best viewed from the mezzanine IMO.

I just bought my ticket yesterday intending to use this code, however I didn't see a place I could enter it. Maybe I'm blind...

I think it’s only good through mid-May. I used it for April 21 recently.

I sat Center Orch row P seats 103 and 104 that I got at the last minute on stubhub this past Saturday matinee. They were absolutely phenomenal seats. While many are saying they think this show is best viewed from the mezz, I think it’s best viewed in center Orch. I do think mezz would be fine, though. And I think your seats off to the side would be just fine, too. You may not be able to see the violinist, trombonist, or cellist, but you should be able to see everything else as most of the action happens in the center.
