Apparently the church that owns it has refurbished the theatre, and Playbill has pictures at the address below. I always thought that the theatre was the most beautiful in NYC by far, even when it was in lousy shape, with ripped carpets, bad lighting in the lobby, and dingy walls, etc. These pictures show just how magnificent the theatre -- er, church -- is.

I have wished for years that the church would sell it at some point in time, in order to build something less theatre / more church. I guess not, but I can continue to hope.

Every few years a rumor seems to pop up that the church has outgrown the space and may be looking to sell it (which of course has always ended up being false). The good news is that they have done an excellent job of restoring and maintaining it, so it would probably get snapped up pretty quickly should they ever decide to vacate and it would be a pretty easy restore to make it a legitimate venue again. 

I do wish that the photo story you linked to here also included some photos of the stage and itself as well as dressing rooms and other backstage spaces.
