Has anyone heard anything about this? It starts 1/31 and it looks like it could be great. Tom Kitt music and lyrics, Kate Baldwin and Bryce Pinkham starring.

I have tickets booked for my New York trip in March. On the basis of that clip, I'm really pleased I booked!!! Sounds great.

Why do I picture this scene with the action stopping and him singing in a spotlight? Hmmmm

Every song is starting to sound the EXACT same.

The arrangement and the performance are great. But the song sounds a bit generic to me on first listen. I'm willing to keep an open mind going in though.

I remember seeing this along with some other segments on On Stage. Assuming the plot hasn't changed, I think it is about

A mother and her son. The father has died. There's a male neighbor in their apartment building. I know the son is obsessed with comics but I can't remember if the neighbor is secretly a superhero or if I'm confusing it with a different story.

I'm thinking of doing 30 Under 30 because I like Tom Kitt and the last time I decided $30 was too much to spend for a Second Stage show, it was Dear Evan Hansen. :p

I love to see musicals Off Broadway if I can. It's fun to experience a new work in a small theater and see where the show goes next. Sometimes they don't go anywhere. But $30 is a good price, if you have it.

How is it that I knew exactly what this was going to sound like before I even heard a note?

I mean, technically I have it. But I'm hoping to make return visits to Waitress and My Fair Lady. And the season is finally shaping up nicely with Tootsie, Hadestown, Oklahoma!, Moulin Rouge, etc. and I need to stick to some sort of a budget. I usually take a chance on more off-Broadway shows when the Broadway shows aren't eating up my budget.

I would pay money to see Kate Baldwin sing the phonebook.  Getting a brand new original musical is gravy. I purchased my tickets 3 weeks ago.

After watching the “I’ll Save the Girl” video all the way through, I think I’m hooked. I still have two slots left for my final day of my trip and think I’ll give one slot to this. I'm thinking the Saturday matinee. My question is I have the $10 Broadway Box $10 discount code. There are still 2 house left front rows (A-5 and A-6) seats that are regularly priced at $79 (most of orchestra is $99). They are located besides four wheelchair spots also I believe priced at $79 before discount.

My question is are these (A-5. a-6) seats considered companion seats or are they partial view? Trying to figure out if a) it’s allowed for me to purchase and b) if these are typical partial view at the Kizer Theater. They do not appear to be marked as companion seats or partial view seats. Thanks!

Update: looks like most of house left is priced at $79 (before discount) except for those seats closer to the center aisle while house right is priced at $99 or more for house Right orchestra row H and closer.

Well, I bought A-5. Total cost $74. Pretty good bargain hopefully for Kitts new musical, seeing Kate Baldwin, and potentially the next Dear Evan Hansen.

Now Dear Evan Hansen (second visit), Choir Boy, and The Cher Show get to duke it out for that final Saturday night spot.

if I hear it is partial view, I will call and try to get moved.

Per Second Stage’s Website, Whitney Bashor is the standby for Kate Baldwin!

How exciting for her! She was wonderful in Ordinary Days last fall! (I didn't get to see Bridges unfortunately).

Just got out. I really expected to love this but I didn’t like it much at all. I think the book is really poor. A lot of underdeveloped characters and the show just kind of ends without any real earned sense of resolution. The score was fine, though there are only 1 or 2 songs that stood out to me. The actors were good, strong voices. I enjoyed the stage design too. Picture below
