So I hear that if you're first on line, you're guaranteed left front row orchestra. But I've heard on more than one occasion, 3rd and 4th people got center orchestra (albeit aisle seats).

If you're like, 2nd or 3rd, do you get center orchestra, or does 1st always get the bestseats? I've been wanting to rush, but if "not being first" gets you better seats, y'know... Thought I'd risk it.
"

This was my experience today, Friday 2/22.

I was 6th in line, arrived right around 7:40am. The girl in front of megot front row and I'm assuming so did everyone else at the front of the line. I got Orchestra row K seats 13 and 15, which is extreme left side. They're not marked "partial view" and the picture from "A View From My Seat" looks decent at best.

The woman at the box office told me that the amount of tickets available for rush is generally based on how much they're sold for the performance that day. I mentioned that some people on the line had said sometimes they had as little as just 10 tickets available. She said that they're not wrong, sometimes they'll have very limited rush tickets, especially on weekends.

The moral of the story: get there as early as you can. Next time, I'll be there at 6 or 7.
"

Oh my gosh, have fun!!!

Definitely helpful, thank you!

I was just curious though, would the first person in line get front row left orchestra, and then second gets closer to center orchestra? Or vice versa?

I know the girl in front of me got 2 tickets front row, orchestra left. We were looking at the seating chart together and that’s how I knew. I didn’t pay close attention to see if the other people from the rush line were center or right.

I rushed in late December and I got there at 6:45am and was 3rd in line. BUT ithis was a Wednesday and the people who were first in line wanted the matinee and we wanted evening as did the 2nd in line. As the third in line we got front row left BUT so did the lady in front of me. She got the aisle seat and I got the 2nd to 4th seats in from the center aisle. The seats were great and we saw everything. The last seat in that aisle was a bit obstructed for very few things. That person didn’t complain. With all this said...when I bought the tickets, I got the last three tickets that morning. Only SRO left after I bought the tickets. So arrive super early.

Has anyone recently rushed on a Sunday? Also do you think a rainy forecast will increase my chances of getting tickets?

I rushed this morning, Wednesday 2/27.

Got there at 6:25am and was the 3rd person in line. 4th person came at 7. About 10 people by 8. 20 by 9am. I counted 33 people by the time the box office opened. I was nervous that I’d be turned away for not wearing pink but this wasn’t an issue.

I got Orch A left, seats 5 and 7 marked partial view. The show isn’t fresh on my mind to remember if I’ll miss anything important from these seats but I’m relatively disappointed. Hopefully we don’t miss much or that maybe we can move after intermission.

dont worry, I got those seats on Sunday, great seats. The row behind us was practically empty, so some people moved during intermission.

Ah, thank you! According to Ticketmaster, the row behind mine is unsold as of this writing so maybe moving is possible after all!

During the week of April 21st, 2019, (after Easter weekend) I’m coming down to New York and I really want to see Mean Girls. If I arrived in line at 4AM, do you think that will be early enough to be guaranteed to get a pair of tickets. I’m planning to go for Tuesday night.

4am seems a bit excessive.

I was able to go to the box office less than an hour before the show last week and get Orch tickets for $70 so maybe that will be an option if rush doesn't work out. I think they sell discounted mezzanine tickets for even less.

Any recent updates? Want to try to get tickets this week.

Thanks!

I rushed yesterday (6/29, Saturday) and got there around 8am. I was first in line and two other people came relatively soon after.

What kinds of seats do you get?

I did rush today (Sunday). I got there around 11:30 which is later than I meant to, but I managed to pick up the last two standing room tickets. There were probably around 25-30 people in front of me. After that, a lady came out and said there were still some single seats and obstructed view left with the lowest price being $140.

I rushed on Sunday and was one of the first people to get there around 7:45am. The first 5 or so people were all in line by 8:30am if thats helpful.

We got there at 7:45am on a Wednesday morning (today). We were 15 and 16 in line.  Got tickets no problem.  I think they went through about 65 people on line.  But there were many unsold tickets and there were two shows.  Have no idea if that's something you can rely on.

Im going to New York from 18th December and I want to rush Mean Girls. I bet it will be really cold then so will this mean it is less busy? What do you recommend

Unfortunately, that’s the busiest time of year for Broadway. You’ll still have to get there very early. But also look at how the show is doing in Dec. It’s still doing incredibly well without having resorted to any sort of stunt casting but it isn’t selling out every night anymore. Finding affordable tickets is not impossible.

Thank you! Should I wake up early and rush or book in advance? I have seen some offers floating around

Personally, I would opt for booking in advance.

Rush is sold, from what I was told, based on what’s available. If the show continues to sell really well into the holidays, this means there’s a smaller chance if you securing tickets day of. Buying a ticket in advance saves you the stress of having to arrive early and any stress the freezing temperatures may put on your body.

I would personally suggest opting for the $89 partial view seats they sell on the side orchestra. You may miss some small moments, but nothing super crucial, and imo, this is a show you’d rather sit up close than farther away for.

After losing the online lotto 324 times I finally won on a second chance offer because someone else didn't purchase in time. By far the worst luck I've ever had with an online lotto but I'm excited to finally see the show, it's the only show from that season that I haven't seen because I had been trying to win the lotto since it opened lol

@griffin I rushed Waitress back in January. The third person in line arrived at 6:50, and said she was originally going to rush Mean Girls, but the line was already 20-ish people long (My memory's foggy, so it might not be 20-ish, but I remember thinking, "Wow, that's long."Mean Girls Rush/Lottery
This was also during that week where it was below freezing, so ai doubt the cold is stopping anyone. I know it's not December 18th, but it's still in the same tourism period, I believe.

EDIT: Completely forgot I asked questions in this thread. Thanks to anyone who gave input!

Won the lottery the other day after being waitlisted. I got the notification a little after 6:00PM the day prior.
Ended up with Row P seat 20 Right MEZZ, the second to last row with the furthest seat on the right. No one showed up in seat 18, but someone did for seat 16. After chatting, I learned that she also won the lottery after being waitlisted. To my knowledge, the people surrounding us weren't lotto winners.
