Remember reading her autobio yonks ago and I think she was more cute and kooky at the time. ( when she met her future husband she stuck the whole top of the water glass in her mouth and then had to get it out again)

Also I'm wondering about if they will cast someone for Buddy Hackett, also a close friend of Fosse from when they were in "Call Me MIster!"..

I remember Miriam(OnceADancer) usta talk about Call Me Mister .

They definitely need to touch on the out-of-town shenanigans of Buddy and Fosse.  They both were pigs with the ladies and poor Mary Ann Niles (Fosse’s 1st wife) who chose to endure Fosse’s pig ways, which he shared with Buddy.

I'm curious as to why this series starts with the making of the film version of Cabaret.  To be Fosse/Verdon, and if you want to tell the story in flashback, I would think you would start with Chicago.

Heck, the Wasson book starts with the Fosse memorial, before it goes back in time.

I enjoyed Brody's formatting of the cast list. I would love to see Liza playing Kelli Barrett!

THANKS! While a dramatic moment in Fosse's life, I'm not sure it makes sense as a starting point for the story of the Fosse Verdon relationship.  Is it "he's so low, but Verdon is his muse and saves him"?  Regardless,  I will watch and see how it works.

Thanks. I'm actually relieve to hear this angle. It circumvents the issues of so many biopics that try to cram too many events into the time it takes for a movie/TV show.

Who's playing Kander and Ebb?!

While it may be a bit of an ALL THAT JAZZ-retread to focus a bit on CHICAGO (or LENNY for that matter), as Nicole Fosse says in a recent interview piece I read, Bob's movie of his life is definitely "romanticized" to the point where everyone is guilty of screwing him over except the Gwen Verdon character.

And that out of town tryout was uber dramatic. And awful.

Who's playing Kander and Ebb?!

They are still in production so certain roles are still slowly being confirmed even though their scenes have been filmed.  Most recently the roles of Ben Vereen, Leland Palmer and Irene Ryan were announced so more are expected as production concludes.  Yes, the roles of Fred Ebb and John Kander are portrayed in the series.

Happy to announce that Brandon Uranowitz is playing Dustin Hoffman.

Production is slowly releasing info so the fully released cast of the series as far isn’t final.

As always, it’s good to see NY talent getting cast in things like this.

Just wishful thinking, but...

If this is a huge success, can FX commission a mini-series on "ALW / LuPone" ? Even as part of the FX FEUD franchise? Please, oh, please ? I'm quite positive LuPone will give them all the info they would ever need, and even be able to star as herself in the latter years!

David10086, don’t get me excited like that. It’s a brilliant idea, but probably too niche.

I am big. It’s the REVIVALS that got small.

Maybe after this a Michael Bennett/Donna McKechnie series?

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Sadly, this would never get greenlit as an 8-part series.  Bob Fosse is a legendary Oscar winning filmmaker as well as multi-Tony Award winning Broadway director/choreographer who remains iconic.  Interest in his story surpasses any mainstream interest in Michael Bennett and his Donna McKechnie.

Now... as a 2-hour HBO film?  I think it would be quite delicious.

I really cannot wait to see this series!  I have been intrigued by Bob Fosse, ever since I saw "Cabaret" as a child.  I LOVE Sam Rockwell, and his casting in the show is amazing!  Want to watch this show to learn even more about this great man than I already know!
