How long in advance do I have to be in the box ticket to buy those? Are they sold any day of the week or any time? Do we have to line up for those too? How are they not sold out yet? ahahaha
"

Box seat policy will depend on the theatre of course. To answer your questions...

You can buy box seats at the box office and (as per the very nice BO agent informed me) sometimes online at TM. The seats are sold (if available) any time the box office is open. No, you do not need to stand in any line. The lines are for cancellation, rush and SRO spots.

I've been used to box seats being made available only on the day of the performance, but the agent said they MAY release them as far as a week in advance. Today I purchased a ticket for Friday, so definitely at least 3 days in advance.

Your best bet is to go to the box office early in the day and ask if they have box seats available for the date you are looking to go. Current price is $109.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks for all this info everyone! I can’t wait to return the favor with my rush experience tomorrow. I do have one more question I hope someone can answer. I’m not from the city so I have to bring a bag with stuff I’ll need for the day.... I’m thinking of bringing my Jansport backpack from high school. Would I be allowed to bring that into the theater and keep it with me during the show or do I have to check it somewhere?

Good luck with rush Grace2! Yes, a Jansport sized backpack won't be an issue. You can stuff it under your seat. They have the normal bag check - be ready for a search if your bag is stuffed full - plus a metal detector check. Your bag goes on a table and you pass through the metal detectors :)

For future reference, for tonight’s show (6/18, 7pm) they sold twenty tickets. 6 rush and 14 SRO. I got to the theatre around 2:15 and I was a 13th in line. The first few people all got to the theatre around 10/10:30 according to the people in front of me in line.

I got seat SRO 11 and was able to move to a really good center orchestra seat. Most people on the left side were able to get sears after intermission, I have no clue for the right.

Also it was rainy all day which might be why I was still able to get a ticket after getting there kinda late!!

Ok so the show was great! Here is all the info on rushing a Wednesday matinee from my experience.

The first three people in line came together at 10:30 the night before (Tuesday).

The next two people came at 11:00 on Tuesday as well.

My friend and I arrived at 6:30am on Wednesday and were right behind those guys so we were 6th and 7th in line.

The second person in line got a front row ticket on the right orchestra but aaaaaalll the way in the end (so like not the end near the aisle connecting center and right orchestra but rather like the end near the emergency exits)

The third person got a seat in the back of right orchestra and again aaaaalll the way one the end.

The fourth person got seat L21 so the same seat I belive as the third person but on the left orchestra

The fifth and sixth people got the first seat in each of the boxes

I (7th in line) got the first standing room ticket which was standing room 3 on the right side (standing room 2 was given to a persons boyfriend of a crew member and wasn’t for sale) It was a spectacular view! Only hades head was cut off when her stood but nothing a little leaning can’t fix. At intermission I was one of two people in standing room to get actual seats because the show was packed!

They ended up selling 13 standing room and 6 rush tickets for the Wednesday matinee so a total of 19 all together. It was a great experience and made a lot of friends on the rush line! Hope u all get to do it too and I hope this helps!

Thanks for the updates, everyone! Anybody go today? I'm going to try tomorrow and would love an idea of what rush and SRO look like on a weekend day. Thank you!

I passed by the Kerr today (Saturday) around 10:15 on my way from rushing another show. There was already a sizable line - I didn’t count, but definitely enough that some of them were inevitably going to end up disappointed. Out of curiosity I asked First person in line what time they got there, and they said sometime around 3am.

Jeez. So much for their not wanting people to line up in the middle of the night.

Yeah, the people in front of me got here at 4:30. I don't know when the first people arrived. There are 2 line-jumpers at this point, so my friend and I are #8 and #9. I'll post again with an update after we (hopefully!) get tickets.

Line jumpers? As in, people who cut in front of you? That shouldn't be tolerated! Especially since it's not like a normal rush where each person can get 2 tickets, so someone joining their friend might not make a difference.

Yup. 2 people "holding spots." I tried to explain the policy, the morality of it, showed them the Hadestown tweet with the rush policy, etc. The new people joined the line in front of everyone anyway. There's a limit to how much commotion I feel comfortable making. I wouldn't want the situation to escalate and they shut down in-person rush altogether like "Hamilton." The people behind us might intervene when the BO opens. Anyway, I didn't mean to change the topic. I'll post an update in a bit with the results.

Couldn't resist posting the secondary outcome of the line jumper situation: there was a block of 6 *premium* seats that were empty during Act I. The SRO folks were told by an usher that we were free to sit in any empty seats available after Intermission. The six of us who made friends with each other on the line snatched up those seats. Mr. Line Jumper and his girlfriend came over after we claimed them, missed out, and had to go back to their obstructed rush seats. Karma!

Oh, and the show was just glorious!

LunimousBeing: Glad to know that Karma is alive and strong and that you got such a killer seat for Act II! :)

On another note, Summer vacations/days off have begun.

Timothy Hughes will be out until Friday June 28 and T. Oliver Reid will be in for Hades on Thursday June 27. Both posted this info on IG.

Gonna try for the 5pm rush to tonight’s show, might arrive by 1pm but who knows if that’s good enough or not. Now that it’s only 1 ticket per person, I’m sad that I can’t buy an extra ticket for my friend. Because if he arrives after work before 5pm everyone will kill me for having him “jump the line” with me, right?

Thanks for this info. Did you happen to learn at what time the first in line arrived?

Got in line today, TUESDAY the 25th, around 12:50pm and was fourth in line for the 5pm rush. They sold 6 rush tickets and likely 14 standing room. I got a rush ticket, ORCH C14. Happy rushing!

I heard them mention they were there for an hour before anyone came so I think they were there by 12pm or maybe earlier. But I would imagine rush is easiest on a Tuesday as it’s the start of the week. Did I read earlier in this thread something about theatre staff preventing people from queuing up too early?
