I’m hoping what happens to the ticket prices of those two shows won’t be the same as with Hadestown. RippedMan has a point in that GARY is unique, and I can’t see this touring as effectively as TOOTSIE and/or BEETLEJUICE.
As for Nathan Lane, there’s no telling when and what he’ll do next. As with Jake Gyllenhaal in SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE, I’d rather had seen him in that than his current play. Same goes for Lane. Whatever comes next may be better or worse. Wish I had seen him in ANGELS IN AMERICA.
With all that said, I’ll probably pick GARY over TOOTSIE. And with all of the strobe lights and odd, mind numbing lighting effects I’m seeing with BEETLEJUICE, and because of my headaches, TOOTSIE may be an effective replacement. We’ll see what happens after they both officially open.

I have epilepsy and haven't had a seizure in a long time *knock on wood*. But would you still suggest staying away from Beetlejuice?

Finally saw this last night and loved it.
Hilarious, ambitious, ridiculous and brilliant.
Can completely see why this wouldn't be someone's cup of tea - and it's a rigorous evening, especially for a comedy - but it was absolutely my cup of tea.
Curious, do we have any reports of work they did in previews? Wolfe usually uses previews well and makes a ton of changes. They said they pushed Opening back to allow time for the casting changes but any word on work they did in previews?

Saw this last night, too. It was marvelous! Quite a quick, smart, and hilariously written play. All three of the cast members were incredible in their respective roles. I hope they all get nominated this spring.
Will I go back? Probably not. Will I read this play and hope to see another production, perhaps in Taylor Mac's Dionysia Festival? Absolutely.

Some people in other preview threads mentioned he only allows it for big musicals or if other producers insist. It's a shame because I rarely think to buy merch but this art style makes me want something sooooooo bad.
