This show has a lot to consider and a lot to discuss for the appropriate theater patron. I went into EPAC's production of How I Learned to Drive not knowing what to expect. I have never heard of the show. EPAC's synopsis was not very helpful. It referenced 'a woman's coming of age through the 60's and 70's' and said that the story 'finds compassion and humor in the places you'd least expect'. I was prepared for something light and fluffy along the lines of the TV show, The Wonder Years. I was wrong, very wrong.

Fulton is to be commended for investing in more diverse choices in entertainment.  The Wiz is a great example of why this commitment is so important for our community and beyond.

This production really had some great character roles including Shannon Connolly's eternally optimistic, Sister Mary Patrick, Jim Johnson’s enthusiastic Monsignor, and Joshua James Crawford’s TJ who was one part JJ Evans, one part George Jefferson, one part Rerun, and 100% hilarious.

What did our critic think of DOUBT at Fulton Theatre?

All aboard for a night of Agatha Christie-inspired mystery and murder in Dutch Apple's current production of Murder on the Orient Express. This straight play written by Central Pennsylvania's own Ken Ludwig is fun and fast-paced.

The Play That Goes Wrong is a Looney Tunes cartoon come to life.  Bring your whole family to enjoy its’ slapstick and silliness.

While this touring production of the show was not, by any means bad, it was nothing new.  Broadway revivals are currently pushing the envelope to explore the content in new and creative ways.  This production of My Fair Lady instead, rests comfortably on its laurels. 

Fulton Theatre’s current production of the tepid White Christmas is an excellent example of the old adage “there are no small parts, only small actors”. Fulton Theatre?

Pleasant surprises are the best kind.

If you ever owned a leisure suit or drank a can of Billy beer, this show has something for you. However, if you expect something beyond a live version of the 1977 movie, you might be disappointed.

What did our critic think of THE BOOK OF MORMON at Hershey Theater? The Book of Mormon is a contradiction in that it is both totally filthy and wonderfully wholesome at the same time. This leads to non-stop laughs, a few gasps, and a good feeling in the bottom of your heart when it is all over.

it will get you talking and get you thinking. It will stay with you. Theater on Fulton's 4th floor is often more complex, more intense, and more thought-provoking than what is performed on the main stage. Past shows such as Blackbird, Sweat, and I Am My Own Wife are perfect examples of this mission. However, their current production of FOR COLORED BOYZ on the verge of a nervous breakdown/ when freedom ain't enuff takes those expectations to a whole new level.

Kinky Boots is a show about acceptance, friendship, and making the best of a situation when faced with adversity.  Fulton’s current production exemplifies all of those facets and makes for a great night of theater.

Who doesn’t love Dolly Parton?

With a performance that is complex, compelling, and sympathetic, Weinhold proves why he is among the biggest talents on the Central Pennsylvanian stage.

What did our critic think of THE ODD COUPLE-THE FEMALE VERSION at Little Theatre Of Mechanicsburg? Little Theatre of Mechanicsburg puts a new spin on an old favorite with their recent production of The Odd Couple-The Female Version. The classic comedy by Neil Simon, tells the story of bickering roommates, lifelong friendships, and second chances. Nancy Meister stars as the messy and carefree Oliver Madison-a woman long on sports knowledge and short on patience. Andrea Stephenson plays the uptight, fussbudget, Felicia Unger.

XL Live in Harrisburg was taken over by the crunchy sounds of Freekbass and the Bump Assembly on Friday. This Cincinnati funk band put on a great show for the small but appreciative crowd. The group played tune after tune that were slick, tight and ready for a party.

Dutch Apple celebrates the jazz age in their newest production of Chicago. Although the playbill references a cast of 22, the orchestra is the true star of this show. The ten-piece ensemble is bold and brassy. They are placed prominently and permanently onstage with good reason. They serve as the engine that propels the story.

A powerful and thoughtful drama that questions the concept of normalcy. Currently on Belmont Theater's stage is a challenging, yet rewarding production of The Elephant Man. The play, like the film, concerns nineteenth-century, London doctor, Fredrick Treves and his attempts to bring dignity and normalcy to the severely disfigured, John Merrick.
