Traveling to the most beautiful cities in Germany and Austria is always a good idea. There are many things to do, cultural highlights, historical places, great food and adorable people everywhere. Not to forget, the german speaking musical cosmos. Some of the shows are homemade, like ELISABETH, TANZ DER VAMPIRE (not the rotten Broadway version), I AM FROM AUSTRIA or MOZART ( all of them from the Vereinigte Buhnen Wien) and some are transferred from the Great White Way. Translating a show into the german language means a lot of work to keep the magic of the production as close to the original as possible.

Let's have a look at the 2019/2020 season at the Landestheater Linz. It is all about confessions. Confessions have to be made when you select your shows for the next season. Linz has done it wisely in the past. The Landestheater brought huge success into the steel city. Let's see, if the 2019/2020 is able to cope with the past ones.

Earlier today, Christian Struppeck announced his cast for the Open Air Concert of ELISABETH, the one Event you better not miss this summer. On july 5th and 6th, the famous historical setting provides a unique and dignified backdrop for the concert version of the musical, which tells the dramatic and moving story of the life, loves and tribulations of Empress Elisabeth of Austria

Krawutzi Kaputzi is getting closer to it's opening night. The cast and creatives are in the rehearsal process. During rehearsals, Johannes Gluck found some time to sit down and talk with us about the show and where it all started. Gluck is one of this rare diamonds in the business. He is not only a writer/composer, he is also a singer/actor and one of the finest comedians in the country. A brand new show about the famous circus family dynasty is going to celebrate it's opening night in Switzerland. A stelar cast is going to present the untold story about 200 years of the circus showbusiness. Part of the cast is austrian performer Judith Jandl, former participant of THE VOICE OF GERMANY and well known musical performer. Jandl will be Antonia Staufer in this new production. Staufer joined the circus family against her fathers will and was the first woman to use the term showbusiness in 1803. The Landestheater Linz is getting ready for the big opening night of AN AMERICAN IN PARIS, the multi nominated Musical from Ira and George Gershwin. It will be the first german production. While rehearsals are under its way, we got the chance for a chit chat with the leading man Jerry Mulligan played by GERNOT ROMIC. ROMIC is working with Director/Choreographer NICK WINSTON and the rest of the cast, to create some theatre magic at the unique Landestheater Linz, a couple of years ago a more or less an insider tipp, now a renowned house for outstanding productions.
