The story of Brazilian Formula One world champion Ayrton Senna has led him to be recognized as one of the greatest racing drivers of all time, national hero and international idol. But it is the essence of his personality and character, with a warrior spirit and solidarity, that will be on the stage of the show 'Ayrton Senna, the musical', which opened at Teatro Sergio Cardoso on March 16 in Sao Paulo.

Directed by Jarbas Homem de Mello, and starring Adriana Lessa and Erico Bras as protagonists, the show celebrates Brazilian popular music with great humor and the style of the revue theater.

Burt Bacharach and Hal David, whose pop songs pretty much defined the mid-to-late 1960s and early 1970s, only wrote one Broadway show, Promises, Promises. There may have been many reasons for the success of the show. With stellar turns by Marcelo Medici as the big-corporation employee whose idea on how to get ahead in business consists of lending his bachelor apartment to his married bosses, and by Malu Rodrigues as the cafeteria waitress with whom he falls in love even though she is having an affair with the personnel director, and with Alonso Barros in charge of choreography and Claudio Botelho & Charles M eller directing, the musical proves that it is still as fresh and vibrant as it was when it was first created, opening in Brazil now, 50 years after his debut on Broadway.

'Rio Mais Brasil, Nosso Musical' shows a picture of the country's musical richness, with songs from all regions and varied rhythms. It tells the story of a producer and a film director who decide to make a film that portrays the Brazilian people. Fiction and reality merge in the development of the script. The project moves a cast selection that draws artists from all regions, but cancellation of the production budget could put the idea at risk.

In a ceremony realized last night at Teatro Santander, My Fair Lady (with six awards) and Les Miserables (with five) were the big winners of the 5th edition of the Bibi Ferreira Awards.

Hebe Camargo was a Brazilian television host, singer and actress. From humble childhood in Taubat , a small town in Sao Paulo, to the position of 'Queen of Brazilian Television', Hebe Camargo wins a musical, based on the biography written by Artur Xexeo and directed by Miguel Falabella, who tells of her professional climbing and the loves that have gone on for her life. She died at her home on September, 2012. Her net worth was over US$360 million. Surrounded by the songs that defined her career as a singer, the show goes through eight decades in which, the paths of Hebe and television history in Brazil are blended.

The musical O Som e a Silaba (The Sound and the Syllable) opens at Teatro Porto Seguro on October 6 and runs until November 26, with sessions from Friday to Sunday. With text and direction by Miguel Falabella, the musical was conceived especially for Alessandra Maestrini and Mirna Rubim, two actress singers with lyrical record. The show tells the story of Sarah Leighton (Alessandra Maestrini), a young woman diagnosed with highly functional autism, a savant, with specific skills in some areas, including music, and her relationship with Leonor Delise (Mirna Rubim), her teacher of singing.

The story of Francisco, a very simple and poor man whose dream was to see his children become country music stars, and who made all the efforts to make it happen, is the history of Zez Di Camargo & Luciano, which took more than 5.3 million moviegoers to the movie theaters, opens now at Teatro Cetip.

With direction by Patricia Pinho and special participation and musical direction by the pianist Miguel Briamonte, Do Outro Lado takes place in the courtyard of a fictional prison, where two women and a pianist perform a show in honor of a colleague who died a week ago. Silmara (Vanessa Gerbelli) is paying for a crime she claims she has not committed and singer-songwriter Diana (Alessandra Verney) is accused by her husband of attempted murder.

The bossa nova guitar chords are unmistakable. One of the most influential movements of Brazilian popular music, which has revealed great names such as Vinicius de Moraes, Tom Jobim and Joao Gilberto, gives the rhythm to the musical 'Garota De Ipanema, O Musical Da Bossa Nova', which premieres September 22 Teatro Opus, at Shopping Villa Lobos, in Sao Paulo. The show has stories and images that represent the whole history of Bossa Nova and its importance for Brazilian music. Project of Aventura Entertainment, directed by Sergio Modena and musical direction by Delia Fischer, brings great names of the musical scene.

Now in Sao Paulo! The soap opera Vamp, a horror comedy that marked a whole generation in the 1990s and until today is considered cult by the legion of fans it left, was adapted for the theater by Aventura Entretenimento. After a successful season in Rio de Janeiro, the musical debuts on September 15 in Sao Paulo, at Teatro Sergio Cardoso. With conception and general direction by Jorge Fernando and direction by Diego Morais, who directed with Jorge the soap opera Eta Mundo Bom, Vamp, o Musical has in the cast the protagonists of the soap opera, Claudia Ohana and Ney Latorraca.

With songs specially composed by Chico Cesar, Beto Lemos and Alfredo Del Penho, staging by Luis Carlos Vasconcelos and text by Braulio Tavares, Teatro Frei Caneca receives Suassuna - O Auto do Reino do Sol, a homage of the Barca dos Coracoes Partidos Company to Ariano Suassuna, who would be 91 years old, in 2018.

Cantando Na Chuva (Singin' in the Rain) is set in the roaring '20s and silent movie stars are the biggest names in the world. With all the charm, romance, comedy and tinsel town glamour of one of the world's best-loved films, Cantando Na Chuva songs include Good Morning, Make 'em Laugh, Moses Supposes and the legendary Singin' in the Rain.

'My Fair Lady' leads the list with 11 nominations, followed by 'Suassuna - O Auto do Reino do Sol', with ten. The Reverencia Award is the only theatrical prize in Brazil, aimed at musical theater, that includes simultaneously spectacles of the cities of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. The ceremony will be on September 27, in Rio de Janeiro.

The nominees for the 5th Bibi Ferreira Awards were announced on the evening of this Tuesday, August 1st. My Fair Lady, with 12 nominations, leads the nominees, followed by AUE (with 10) and Les Miserables (with 8).

With more than 20 plays produced, nominated in 61 awards and estimated audience of more than 120 thousand spectators, the Nucleo Experimental, directed by Ze Henrique de Paula, continues working for the creation of a Brazilian identity in musical theater with its new montage, Lembro Todo Dia De Voce (I Remember You Every Day).

Alegria Alegria - O Musical celebrates the 50th anniversary of Tropicalia, honoring the movement that changed the history of Brazilian music. Starring Zelia Duncan and directed by Moacyr Goes, the show opens in Sao Paulo in May at Teatro Santander.

Senhor das Moscas (Lord of the Flies), a 1954 novel by Nobel Prize-winning English author William Golding opens at Teatro do SESI for free season from May 4 to December 3. With direction by Ze Henrique de Paula, musical direction by Fernanda Maia, cast of 13 actors, and  translation by Herbert Bianchi and Ze Henrique de Paula; the story's premise focuses on a group of British boys stranded on an uninhabited island and their attempt to govern themselves, with disastrous results.
