A musical based on the classic 1869 two volume novel semi-autobiographical written by Louisa May Alcott. The story of the four March sisters. This story has been adapted to stage and screen numerous times, including the recent 2019 Hollywood movie release. The Broadway production opened in 2005.

A funny story, when I was a kid I collected movie posters. The local movie theater would often give away posters after a movie ran and I would take what I could get. One of the posters I got was of a movie I had never seen called “A Chorus Line”. That poster hung on my wall for a year or two until it was replaced by another, and I never did see the movie...

The kids from Shanley take us back to the 60's! Leader of The Pack is a jukebox musical originally released in 1984.

As usual Scott Brusven and the kids at Oak Grove did not disappoint. The set design and lighting was very cool and the cast and crew did a great job being safe. They even had a baptism scene featuring hand sanitizer.

The team at Sheyenne chose 8 powerhouse performers to bring this show to life. There is no “lead” in this show and any one of these single performers could be the lead in any other regular musical production. The power and range of these 8 voices is something special.

First of all, YAY!!! Live theatre is back! It was so great to see these performers on stage.

First off, let me say that I am so glad there is actually theatre to review. I also want say how cool this venue is. The Lights in West Fargo (3100 Sheyenne) is an amazing outdoor venue for a show. Do yourself a favor and go check this place out, hopefully to see one of the last few showings of Hairspray.

Everybody cut footloose because Theatre is back in the F-M area after a very long break. When most of the summer programs (and spring for that matter) were forced to close, luckily a couple of local productions decided to push forward, and one of these is Summer Arts Intensive and their production of Footloose.

The kids from Oak Grove take you to church, or maybe even to Heaven in this toe tapping, family friendly musical production.

West Fargo High School Theatre Presents: A Midsummer Night's Dream

The musical based on a 1953 novel that made it's Broadway debut in 1954 comes to life at Fargo South High Theatre. The story about a labor dispute at a pajama factory with workers fighting over a 7 ½ cent raise. This one has a special place with director Kevin Kennedy as he himself played Pop in this show while he was a freshman in high school.

There are so many Christmas traditions I can think of that hold a special place in my heart. Decorating the tree, the first snow, the lights at Lindenwood Park, Home Alone, It's a Wonderful Life, Die Hard and of course the Charles Dickens Classic story of Ebenezer Scrooge. It's probably been 20 years since I have seen a stage production of this but I always try to find the classic movie to watch every year. I was beyond excited to see this show on the FMCT schedule and as usual they do not disappoint.

Kind of like the story, a small town high school puts on the glass slipper and attends the ball. A school with a total attendance of 103 kids (7-12) and a total cast of only 23 kids came together and put on a fun show with their production of Cinderella. Director Lanah Akvik and Vocal Director Mark Aamold should be very proud of what everyone pulled off.

Based on the classic novel by S.E. Hinton which she started writing at the age of 15 in 1965 and published in 1967, The Outsiders is a coming of age novel about the conflict between two rival gangs: The Greasers and The Socs (Short for Socials). The book is written in the first person as told by Ponyboy Curtis. The play does try to stick to that also by having Ponyboy narrate numerous parts. The Play was first published in 1990 and I hear there is a musical adaptation in the works.
