Audrey Liebross retired in 2014 from writing legal briefs for a federal agency in DC. She now works as a writer in Palm Desert, California, where she can visit Disneyland to her heart's content. Audrey has an obsession with "The Phantom of the Opera," and has written a musical for community theatre based on the Leroux novel. She is currently working on a novel about Guess Who. Audrey and her husband have three grown sons and two terrific grandkids. Her philosophy of life is to leave the world a better place than you found it, make lemonade out of lemons, and let your soul take you where you long to be.
Desert Theatreworks presents a Neil Simon play every season. This year's production is the 1988 farce, RUMORS, which is the perfect vehicle to show off DTW's team of talented actors' physical comedy skills. And they do show it off, in spades; the laughs keep coming, as much from the performers' and director Rebecca Havely's wizardry as from Neil Simon's script.
Desert Ensemble Theatre (DETC) has a must-see winner in its world premiere production of ADOPTION ROULETTE, by Elizabeth Fuller and Joel Vig. The play tells the true story of the horrifying experiences that Ms. Fuller and her husband, Reuel Dorman, went through in 2004 in picking their way through the minefield of Russian adoption.
Desert Rose Playhouse has another winner in its laugh-filled world premiere campy musical, THOSE MUSCLEBOUND COWBOYS FROM SNAKE PIT GULCH, with book by Andy Halliday, music by Frank Schiro, and lyrics by CJ Critt. This production is well-done in every way.

Desert Rose Playhouse is in the midst of its second annual engagement of the hilarious CHRISTMAS WITH THE CRAWFORDS, a juke box drag musical comedy by Mark Sargeant. CHRISTMAS WITH THE CRAWFORDS will play two more weekends, through December 22nd. The show is sold out except for two performances added for the evenings of Thursday, December 12th and December 19th.
Desert Theatreworks (DTW) has mounted an excellently acted, enjoyable, comedic production of Ken Ludwig's 2017 adaptation of Agatha Christie's MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS. The script drags in spots, but director Lance Phillips-Martinez has created a visual feast that keeps the audience's attention.
With fabulous acting by Loren Freeman and his supporting team of kooky characters and superb direction by Robbie Wayne, DIE MOMMIE DIE at Desert Rose is a great deal of fun.
SEXY WIDOWS, a musical revue by June August, will play in Sun City Palm Desert from Friday, October 25th through Sunday, October 27th, 2019. The show, directed by Roz Warren Heller, with musical direction by Wayne Abravanel, focuses on the members of a grief counseling group working to rejoin the world after their losses.

RUTHLESS! is a hilarious musical send-up of shows and movies about ruthless females of all ages who will do anything to achieve their goals. Desert Rose's production is expertly presented, from the acting to the singing and dancing to the sets to the costume design.
The OBC Theater, in Corona, has a winner in its rollicking production of OLIVER. It is a bit of a schlep from the Coachella Valley, but it's worth the trip to see the imaginative choreography and adept acting, to hear the lovely singing from adults and children alike, and to marvel at the clever costumes and scenery.
POTO's current national touring production is about to land in the Los Angeles area, possibly for the last time. It is worth the trip from the Coachella Valley.
Encore Theatre District's presentation of FALLING is a brilliantly executed, must-see production for theatregoers who are willing to shed tears as they are forced to think and feel.
PAGEANT, currently playing at Desert Rose, is a drag show, with beautiful "women" competing for the title of Miss Glamouresse, corny jokes, and a smarmy, Nick the lounge singer type emcee. Beyond that, there is nothing except nonstop, goofy hilarity.
