LAMDA Announces 2018 Summer Season LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) presents its 2018 Summer Season featuring a diverse range of nine productions, playing across its three stages from 30 May. The programme of work will include world premieres, modern musicals and classic plays all performed by the graduating class of 2018 and the next generation of acting talent.

LAMDA's new state-of-the Art Theatre, The Sainsbury Theatre will host four plays. Mikhail Bulgakov's darkly comic and moving drama The White Guard, celebrated European play The House of Bernarda Alba by Federico García Lorca, Rodney Ackland's tragi-comedy Strange Orchestra and provocative drama Welcome to Thebes by Moira Buffini.

Within the intimate setting of The Carne Studio Theatre students will stage Polly Teale's After Mrs Rochester which was inspired by the life of tortured and passionate novelist Jean Rhys. This will be followed by Under the Blue Sky by David Eldridge which explores the degrees of love and Sam Holcroft's dark comedy Rules for Living.

The world premiere of LADS by Jon Brittain will be staged in The Linbury Studio. A comedy about friendship, death and drinking, the production was created as part of LAMDA's new writing programme by the Olivier Award-winning team behind Rotterdam. Also running at The Linbury Studio will be modern musical Hello Again by Michael John LaChiusa which explores the joys and depths of sexual attraction.

The summer season will also feature premiere screenings at LAMDA and Curzon Soho of six professionally directed short films written by Michelle Bonnard, Suhayla El-Bushra, Shaun Prendergast, Alex Warren and Daniel Kanaber.

As part of its mission to offer local residents increased access to the dramatic arts, half price tickets are available for Hammersmith & Fulham residents. Full price tickets are £14 with discounts also available for under 18s, over 65s, and those in receipt of JSA.

Every year, LAMDA's final year acting and stage management students present more than 20 productions. LAMDA graduates are in-demand for their ability, passion, commitment and openness - as well as for their superb skills and technique. Soon these students will bring their talent to bear on the performing arts industry at home and abroad. Graduates will be following in the footsteps of alumni such as Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Ruth Wilson, David Oyelowo and Rory Kinnear.
