The National Theatre Presents Kids Night Announced At SCHOOL OF ROCK

Join us for Kids Night on Broadway at the National Theatre on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 featuring the smash hit School of Rock - The Musical.

The fun will start early with a special homegrown musical performance by students from DC metro area School of Rock music schools at the Hard Rock Cafe DC from 5:00pm to 6:30pm. Enjoy happy hour specials on dinner and drinks before the show and embrace the power of ROCK as you watch these local kids strut their stuff on stage. Then at 6:30pm, everyone will make their way to the nearby National Theatre to test out their chops at the musical petting zoo in the second floor Helen Hayes Gallery. This is a great opportunity for children to try out an instrument, and perhaps be inspired to become a musician themselves. Finally, catch SCHOOL OF ROCK - THE MUSICAL onstage at 7:30pm.

School of Rock is based on the hit 2003 film of the same and features music from the movie as well as an original score by Andrew Lloyd Webber. It follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn a few extra bucks by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There he turns a class of straight-A students into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band.

SCHOOL OF ROCK - The Musical is onstage at the National Theatre from January 16 thru 27, 2019. The show's run time is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, including one intermission. It is recommended for age 8 and up.
