BPAC And Canadian Rep Theatre Present HELEN'S NECKLACE

The Burlington Performing Arts Centre is proud to partner with Ken Gass and Canadian Rep Theatre to present Helen's Necklace by Carole Fréchette November 15 - 18, 2018 in the Community Studio Theatre.

Helen's Necklace is a gem of Canadian theatre, by one of Quebec's most celebrated writers. The cast of Helen's Necklace will include Akosua Amo-Adem (Soulpepper), Zorana Sadiq (Tapestry Opera), and Helen Taylor (Shaw Festival). The production will also include Original Music & Sound Design by Wayne Kelso, Lighting Design by Andre du Toit and Stage Management by Fiona Jones.

After attending a conference in Beirut, Helen, a Canadian, refuses to leave this chaotic war-scarred Middle Eastern city. Instead she stays on in the hopes of finding a precious necklace she has lost. Aided by taxi driver Nabil, her journey brings her face to face with the realities of a war-torn city and the many facets of loss The necklace has only sentimental value, but the journey to retrace her steps through the labyrinth of this war-torn city leads Helen to question the very foundations of her existence.

Canadian Rep Theatre presents established works from the contemporary Canadian canon, along with challenging new plays that resonate with the diverse face of Canada in the 21st century.
