The Off Broadway Alliance has announced the nominees for the 12th Annual Off Broadway Alliance Awards, honoring commercial and not-for-profit productions that opened Off Broadway during the 2022-2023 season.

While the ongoing Writers Guild of America Strike continues to affect TV and film production, attention has turned this week towards its potential impact on Broadway's biggest night. BroadwayWorld has learned that the Tony Awards Management Committee will hold a meeting on Monday, May 15 to discuss what happens if the show cannot go on as planned on June 11.

Nominations for the 2023 FREDDY Awards were announced during the live broadcast of the on 69 News at Noon on WFMZ-TV.

The 2023 Tony nominees are already winners... literally. For some, this marks their first nomination, but others have already won Tony Awards in seasons past. We took a look at which nominees have won at least a Tony or two (or seven!) - amongst them, they've gathered a total 79 awards!

The Theatre World Awards Board of Directors announced that Tony Award-winner Brian Stokes Mitchell is the recipient of the 10th Annual John Willis Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre, which will be presented to him at this year's Theatre World Award ceremony.

The New York Drama Critics' Circle today named Bruce Norris’s Downstate best play of the 2022-23 season.

The 2023 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway were handed out this evening to recipients in 15 categories, with four honorary awards also bestowed. The Awards were distributed in a ceremony at NYU Skirball hosted by stars of stage and screen: Kevin Cahoon (Tony nominee, 'Shucked'), D'Arcy Carden ('The Thanksgiving Play'), Crystal Lucas-Perry (Tony nominee, 'Ain't No Mo''), Bonnie Milligan (Tony nominee, 'Kimberly Akimbo'), Arian Moayed (Tony nominee, 'A Doll's House'), and Tamara Tunie (The New Group's 'Bernarda's Daughters'). The Lucille Lortel Awards are produced by the Off-Broadway League and Lucille Lortel Theatre, with additional support provided by TDF.

On Thursday, the nominees met the press and BroadwayWorld's Jennifer Broski was on hand to capture portraits of each of them on their big day!

The Pulitzer Prize Board has just announced that English, by Sanaz Toossi has won the 2023 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Other finalists included: On Sugarland by Aleshea Harris and The Far Country by Lloyd Suh.

The winners of the 2023 New York Drama Critics' Circle Awards will be announced Monday, May 8 at 7pm. The selections will be made immediately beforehand at the organization's 87th annual voting meeting.
