The 2013 Tony Awards are just over a week away, and according to the New York Post's Michael Riedel, plans are at last being finalized for the much-anticipated opening number. He writes: 'This year, no single show will kick off the telecast. Every Broadway show - and I mean every show - will be part of the opening.'

Her award winning new play, HANNAH AND THE DREAD GAZEBO, will have a public reading, directed by Jose Zayas on Tuesday, June 4 at 7pm at Primary Stages located at 307 W 38th St #1510 (between 8th and 9th Avenue) in New York. Mother and daughter, Rosemary Harris and Jennifer Ehle, both Theatre World Award Alumni, are 2013 Honorary Co-Chairs.

Company members from A Christmas Story, The Musical will reunite for their appearance on the Tony Awards telecast on CBS. The cast will travel from various corners of the country and the world including Dan Lauria from Los Angeles, Johnny Rabe from Chicago, Caroline O'Connor from Australia, and Broadway's favorite four-foot tap dancing whiz kid, Luke Spring, from Ashburn, Virginia.

Inside Broadway's Executive Director Michael Presser is pleased to announce that this year, Inside Broadway will honor 2013 Tony Award nominees Laura Osnes (Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella) and Condola Rashad (The Trip to the Bountiful) as well as Alan L. Bain, Chairman of The American-Scottish Foundation, at their Broadway Beacon Awards on Monday, June 17 at Joe's Pub at 7pm (there is also a cocktail reception before the awards ceremony).

Rupert Holmes' Tony Award-winning musical comedy The Mystery of Edwin Drood closed on Broadway in March and was recently nominated for five 2013 Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical and nods for stars Stephanie J. Block and Will Chase. BroadwayWorld has confirmed that the cast will not perform during the Tony Awards telecast on June 9.

Tony Award-winners Susan Stroman, Bebe Neuwirth, Cady Huffman, Kathleen Marshall and Karen Ziemba are set to present at the 31st Annual Fred & Adele Astaire Awards taking place on Monday, June 3 at 7:30pm at New York University's Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. Also set to present at the awards are Mary Testa, Christiane Noll, Harry Belafonte, Rex Reed, Michael Riedel, Anna Bergman, Lee Roy Reams, Dancing with the Stars' Tony Dovolani, Carson Kressley and Countess Lu Ann de Lesseps.

Tony Committee Decides to Take No Further Action on WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? Infraction

UPDATE: Executive Director of the American Theatre Wing, Heather Hitchens, and Executive Director of The Broadway League, Charlotte St. Martin, released the following statement on the results of the meeting: 'The Tony Awards Administration Committee met, considered the infraction and have issued a serious warning to the producers of 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?' The infraction which involved using abbreviated quotes from the critical reviews, were consistent with the overall intent of those reviews, and therefore the committee determined that no further action would be taken on this issue.'

MATILDAs, Huntington Theatre Company & More to Be Honored at Tony Awards Pre-Broadcast

The partnership will commence at the annual Tony Eve Cocktail Party which will take place on Saturday, June 8th, hosted by the Paramount Hotel's food and beverage partner, LDV Hospitality, at their Midtown restaurant, Lugo Caffe (One Penn Plaza). At the event, the Tony Awards will present the Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre to: Career Transition for Dancers; William Craver; Peter Lawrence, The Lost Colony and the actresses who share the role of "Matilda" in Matilda the Musical: Sophia Gennusa, Oona Laurence, Baily Ryan and Milly Shapiro. They will also present the Huntington Theatre Company with the Regional Theatre Award. The evening will also celebrate the 2013 Special Award Recipients; Isabelle Stevenson Award honoree Larry Kramer; and the recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award - Bernard Gersten, Ming Cho Lee and Paul Libin.
