Today the Washington Pavilion unveiled the new SculptureWalk Visitor Center located next to the Visual Arts Center.

In coordination with SculptureWalk and First Bank & Trust, the Washington Pavilion now houses a visitor center on the second floor lobby. The first and last sculptures on the route are located near the Pavilion which gives SculptureWalk visitors an opportunity to start and end at the new visitor center.

The space features a large-scale map of the sculpture route, brochures, video, artwork and more. The visitor center is open year-around and admission is free.

"This is a fantastic opportunity to bridge the Washington Pavilion and the SculptureWalk in our shared goal of offering art to the public," said Darrin Smith, Washington Pavilion President & CEO. "It's a natural connection for our patrons to enjoy our artwork and exhibitions as well as explore the sculptures located throughout downtown Sioux Falls."

SculptureWalk installed 57 new pieces in early May. The SculptureWalk estimates over 300,000 visitors enjoy viewing these artworks each year.

"It is so rewarding to see Sioux Falls as a center for Arts and Culture. Thanks to our supporters, friends, and volunteers we have been able to grow SculptureWalk into a destination for visitors from around the globe," stated Jim Clark, SculptureWalk Executive Director.

"We are so excited to partner with Sculpture Walk and First Bank & Trust in providing a great experience for patrons and visitors at the new visitor center. The Washington Pavilion is a great location to take a break, visit the Visual Arts Center, the Kirby Science Discovery Center or the Paladino Hohm Sculpture Garden and even enjoy lunch at Leonardo's Cafe," explains Jason Folkerts, Washington Pavilion Director of Exhibits & Collections.

The SculptureWalk Visitor Center, located next to the Visual Arts Center entry on the second floor, is open seven days a week: Monday-Saturday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday: 12-5 p.m.

The Washington Pavilion is the region's home for the arts, entertainment and science.
